Looking for a 32gb SD-HD card class 10 by SanDisk preferably. However these are a bit beyond what I want to pay at the moment. Also cheapo generic cards are out!

Question is how low can I go in the class rating with a Sandisk or other quality card and still keep the Drift Stealth happy?

Cheers

http://tiny.cc/qsge4 ive used these cards before and they work just as well as the leading brand :).

Good price for a 32gb, Class 10 card.

but to answer the question:
Class 2 is the slowest SD card speed. Class 2 has a write speed of about 2 Mb/s and is suitable for standard definition video recording. Class 4 and Class 6 have write speeds of about 4 Mb/s and 6 Mb/s, respectively, and can be used for HD video recording. These three classes of SD cards are designed to operate under the normal bus interface.
Class 10 SD cards have write speeds of 10 Mb/s and up and are designed to operate under the high speed bus interface.

So i would say 4 or 6 would be fine if you dont want to spend alot on a higher speed card :)

Thanks POPE5HAT so I would think a class 6 or 8 would do me for recording at 1280x720 and at 60 fps.

Thanks also AZZ3R and yes it is a Drift HD170 Stealth.

I did order and receive from Amazon a very good deal for a Duracell 32gb class 10 card which duly arrived labelled on the blister pack and the card itself as being 32gb. Popped it into the PC to see if it needed formatting (no) only to find it was a 16gb card that was obviously mis-labelled. That's on it's way back pronto!

Thanks LeedsRider93,

Strangely the PNY brand slipped my mind and so I am grateful for both the memory jog and the link. :D

I agree with Pope, 1080p video at 30fps only requires a Class 4 card.

I think Class 10 cards are really meant for DSLR cameras with a lot of megapixels and a high burst rate.

Knew I could rely on you guy's for sound advice and info. :D

Will make my mind up in the morning and order accordingly ...

Thanks all
