SD cards

Most micro-SD cards these days come with an adapter. Both of these are claiming to be class 4 so there should be no difference between them.

The main problem with cards is the proliferation of fakes - especially in the larger sizes. These might claim to be 32GB but can only hold about 4GB of data (if that). You can usually spot the fakes visually as any stamps or writing on the back will be a little fuzzy rather than pin sharp.

Whatever you get, it's worth doing a capacity test before using. Try to copy about 28GB of files (if it's a 32GB card) to confirm how much it actually manages to hold. The last thing you want is to discover this when you are trying to use it and rely on it...

I have a few 32GB class 4 micro cards with adaptors, they work fine. I've been switching between them and Class 6 HDSC that came with the Drift and not noticed a single difference, they should be fine :)

i always go class 10 if possible, got a 32gb sd class 10 (gopro hd) by sandisk and a 64gb micro sd class 10 (gopro 3 black) also by sandisk with the adaptor.

You may as well get a class 6 or class 10 card, they're not that much more expensive usually and the data transfer time on your computer is pretty noticeable. Micro cards (with or without the adapter) tend to cost more, so if the camera doesn't require a micro then don't get one, there's simply no reason to. You should be able to find 32gb Class 10s for about $30-$40. I personally will be looking for a 64gb Class 10 sometime after Christmas when I have a little more spending money.

I didnt think a class 4 would even work? I only buy class 10 for any type of video recording. I bought a 32g strontium SDHC for $25, then my stealth crapped itself, they gave me a HD170 which uses microsd. So now I have a 32g strontium microSD. Why am i telling you this? Well, my 32g class 10 SDHC is free to good home. PM me your address timtom and i'll post it to you as long as you send me back any footage that is on there.

Its in an envelope and will be in the mornings mail. Lets see how long it takes to get there.

dont worry about the adapters, there's nothing in them but metal to widen the contacts.
