Funny Riding In Flip Flops = Safety At Its Finest!

Added your vid to watch later, but i'd not wear without the minimum of decent foot and ankle protection. I wear full Goretex touring boots. I'd not ride in fabric shoes or flip flops, if you were to come off, you could easily to a lot of damage to your feet, and if you get over too far in a corner and your foot scrapes the floor, that's gonna hurt unless you've a decent layer of leather.

I always wear proper boots designed for the task, either Alpinestars waterproof touring boots for crappy weather/touring or RST boots with air holes and sliders for the summer.

Most forms of normal boots will not offer enough ankle protection and feel for the levers for me to be comfortable.

I have a pair of sturdy leather boots that i use regularly. Sometimes I get excited and go out in my sneakers and it just doesn't feel good. One wrong move and my feet would be in major jeopardy. I'd like to get a real pair of motorcycle boots one day, but they're so expensive. But then again, so are skin grafts...

My girlfriend lives about 2miles down the road from me, and even for that journey, I wear my full leathers. Although I will admit, when I was younger I've ridden silly distances in a shirt, jeans and some normal trainers. That was until my buddy came off his bike at 20mph, in shorts. It made an absolute mess of his leg, and I thought to myself if 20mph can cause that much damage, imagine what 40, or even 60 would do to you.

Boots. Always boots, even if my trip is a mile down the road. I have three different pairs of Alpinestars that I alternate depending on the current conditions. There are so many little bones, tendons, and ligaments in such a small area with little protection. I'd rather spend a few hundred extra to keep that area nice and safe.

I used construction boots on my first month of riding. I quickly ditched it after almost getting the shoelaces stuck on the foot peg.

Does anyone know what bike the other guy was riding?

I used to wear boots everywhere but I've saved up and got myself some quality motorcycle shoes, great support and protection, much more comfortable than shoes for getting around the city.

I meant they're much more comfortable than boots*. I have the BMW Ride Sneakers. They're easy too find online and look just like regular sneakers. A bit pricey though.

Okay thanks man. Yeah, I'll look at them. I'm not that worried about the price because I'll be wearing them all day every day so I'd rather something comfortable.

I crashed wearing Alpinestars SMX-5WP boots. The dr's said they are the only reason I can still walk today. I will never wear anything less than a proper riding boot.
