Guide Remove Drift Ghost Hd Whine

The Drift Ghost HD (when you plug a microphone into it and record) leaves a strange high pitched whine/tinnitus type effect over the audio, I hate the noise, some people can't hear it, maybe I'm more dog like than I know.

I noticed twistdarist complained about it in one of his vlogs and I think it was spicy who also mentioned it in his camera setup vlog. I've heard that by using another mic like a Lavelier one that can also remove the noise so no editing required.

I know it won't really matter to some vloggers but as I said, I can hear it and it annoys me so I figured out what to do about it.

Software needed: Adobe Premiere Pro CC and Adobe Audition.

I've never noticed it on my drift [it's a ghost S], but then, I already have tinnitus due to too many metal gigs in my youth...

I hadn't noticed it on my cheaper Sennheiser headphones that I normally do my video edits with. Then just this past weekend, I was using my AKG headphones that I use for recording, and noticed the very high pitched whine on my videos.

The upside of all this is that I had done some (very unofficial) hearing tests online using the Sennheisers and was a little saddened that I appeared to be stone deaf above 15Khz. Thankfully it's the headphones lack of range in the upper octave, not my ears! :D

I dropped the 16k in FCPX when I had the HD Ghost, that got rid of it :)

Not noticed it from the S though.
