Rear bulb to LED conversion

Well not so much a conversion as a change, lol.
The TIGER runs 2 x p21 5w bulbs at the rear acting as running light (illuminates no plate) and dual brake lights. I removed the bulbs and fitted 2 forward facing 9x LED's. Less illuminating of the no plate but damned bright running and brake lights. I think under £3 delivered from ebay!

Obviously daylight does no justice

Anything to help make you more noticeable on the roads is good in my book.

I'm in the process of updated the blinkers on the Harley to LED and add the Run-Stop-Turn-Flash module to the rear lights. I want my rear lights to flash as I hit the brake pedal.
Then comes the DayMaker LED headlight.

Of course pics and vids when the project goes underway.

From the first time I seen those on a sportbike I loved how quickly they draw other drivers attention.

I have seen and heard too many horror stories of riders being rear ended...
All comes down to the almighty $$$

When I still owned my SV650 I had several friends tell me how noticeable it was that I had LED tail lights. They commented just how bright and obvious the brakes were. I even had a car driver ask me about it once in a parking lot... since then all of my street bikes have had LED lights.

Just found an all in one kit for my 2013 (which is hard to do because its so new)
$250 and it comes with 4 new LED blinkers, rear run-stop-turn and selectable pulsate, and load balancer.

Put my order in and should have it in about a week.

Ghost comes in Monday.
Chatterbox XiB2-H not due for another week.

It's all coming together.

Sounds awesome!

I'm stoked. The bike will be one step closer to my custom setup. Now all I have to do is wait for this crap late winter trm weather to pass so I can enjoy some riding.

Awesome looking lights and price is very cheap too.. Thanks for sharing pics

my 2 cents.
But I know about these things, so LISTEN UP:

Not all leds are created equal.

You got 3 main types of led:
Bubble (the ones you got)
Cheap, very weak, 60+YEARS of lifetime. Seriously, there are some bubble leds from the cold war STILL blinking away happily.
SMD (here you got SMD 3030 and SMD 5050 - the 5050's are twice as bright and 150% as big)
CREE Led (these are used in flashlights - garanteed to daze the fuck out of everyone for a mile behind you).

What you want is a couple of rear SMD 5050 LEDS.
Something like this:

or
http://www.ebay.ie/itm/2X-T20-7443-...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4173e97d0b

Remeber, I'm only "raining on your parade" so you GAIN visibility and dont get rammed from behind. I believe vehicular sodomy to be quite painfull.
Keep those, but buy one of the SMD 5050s soonish.
or get a 15/20w CREE led and make cars go "WHAT THE FUUUUUCK??!?!?!??!" every time you break. Seriously those things are bright as einstein and goddard in a nuclear explosion. My single 5w CREE led rivals my car's headlamps. (in fact I'm sure soonish well have cree front led headlamps).
Only disavantage: They get hotter than Kate Upton in lingerie....

EDIT: Upon closer inspection, you MIGHT have smd's in there, with a bubble cap to diffuse light. Try to check if those are SMD leds.

I did this on some vintage CT 70 I rebuilt, I found that red led's work better, the white ones, when covered with brake light housing will tend to have a pinkish hue.
