Quick Ghost S Question - Thumbnails

Lurch

just messing about with the new S, copied the shirt clips on to the computer and there's low resolution thumbnail files.

Wha?! Is this the S doing it, or my Mac? Never had it with the HD Drift, and I don't think I've seen a menu option. Any suggestions welcome!

Cheers!

I have a Ghost S and an iMac, and I've never seen low res thumbnails after uploading my vids. I'm still playing with it, so maybe it's a mode I haven't seen before.

I'll have another check of the manual, although there's only been one version of the firmware for the S, so my camera is no different to anyone else.

I got this with the latest Firmware on the Ghost HD too, only works on MAC though so a little pointless. And can't see any way of disabling it.

Wha' ??? Where are these thumbnails at :o ? Are you taking about icon thumbnails :o ???... guess I'm missing something :p ;) .

Little mini video clips. You get your Clip001.mov and then you get Clip001thumb.mov. I'll dig out what I mean in a bit.

My GoPro doesn't either and neither did my HD Ghost. In fact I was using HD Ghost on Saturday to record a demonstration of its fault.

I think I know what you're saying... on the card, in a folder on the card, somewhere around there, etc. ;) , you have (for example) movie1.mov, then movie1_thumb.mov, then movie2.mov, then movie2_thumb.mov, then movie3.mov., etc., right :o ? This says to me that after some footage is shot, the camera duplicates the file into a lower resolution in order to better play/browse in their or someone else's software... or possibly onto a connecting video screen. My Sony does something similar except that it puts thumbnail photos in a separate folder (I think this is what it does - I haven't looked in ages because I don't pay attention to that folder ;) ) so that you can playback through the camera to a TV via an HDMI cable. Never needed it, never used it :p ... but this is my guess ^_~ .....

Please correct me if I'm wrong :) !

Ohhh, my mistake, I thought you meant you had a low res thumbnail pic. Then yes, I do have a second file with lower res than the main file. As @RoninK6 says, I haven't used it yet.

my iOn does that too. it's for quick viewing on your computer so you don't have to load a big hd video. kinda pointless because most computers do hd video pretty easy. I'd like to know how to disable the feature though because it's pointless.
