General Pulled Over Doing 81mph In A 55mph Zone... Oops!

Nice! I got 86 in a 45 on my old bike. That was a $400 ticket or close to it. I just paid it and shut up. If he'd got me going up the hill I would have gone to jail lol

Lucky! I tagged for doing 86 in 65 on the freeway on Easter Sunday a few years ago. Now I wear a high viz vest everywhere I haven't been pulled over since. Maybe it's coincidence or superstition, but I think it gives the impression that I'm safe rider and/or a military personal (I live near a military base and they're required to wear a high viz vest on base at least.

Not the first time I've heard of things like that. I've heard from some that wearing a white helmet will keep you from being bothered by the cops. Some of the reasoning, being that Highway Cops wear white helmets, so they tend to associate a white helmet with being one of the "good guys". I wouldn't know, I've never owned a white helmet. I had a red one once, but I spray painted it black.

Lucky! Over here you'd have got some penalty points and a fine, you only get warnings if very lucky and only doing a little over. Some say it's all about the cash in the UK.

Always nice to get a warning from the LEO. I got pulled once doing way over the speed limit and was treated similarly.

Same here. When I had my Monster a city cop pulled me over doing about 90 on a 65. He told me he appreciated that I didn't try to run. I also pulled over, shut off the engine, dropped the side stand, took my helmet off. Cops like that too. He said something to the effect of "I know you know how to ride, but those other people don't. Slow down next time." I said "Yes sir, yes sir, three bags full sir." (not out loud) and he let me off with a warning.

It's actually a fair comment that. You may know how to ride, but there's too many muppets out there plus people don't expect you to catch up in seconds, so might change lanes or turn across you.

I thought so too. Could be he's a rider and understood the situation.
