A Topic that might be of interested for more people, but mainly because i'm curious.

I'm getting a new helmet soon, most likely, and i want to change my setup.
Now my powerbank is in my backpack while wired to the camera.
I know of multiple people who attached their powerbank to their helmet instead.
I kinda want to do that, because that gives me the freedom to leave the backpack at home, which is a plus.

Which setup do you guys use?
Which would you prefer?

And more importantly, for the people who have their powerbank on their helmet;
How is it attached? Which method did you use?
Any way of securing it incase it drops?

I run a powerbank and it is attached to my helmet. I use super strong velcro and it has not budged with speeds of around 130mph. I stick it on to the rear of the helmet as on top it could possibly cause some turbulence or get caught by the wind blast.

The GoPro mic adaptor for the 5/6/7 has a USB-C input as well as the 3.5mm mic input

I got the helbat from helequip.com that notagrom makes, but instead of using the mounts that come with it I instead trimmed it down and used sugru to stick it to the back of my helmet.

3M velcro or another brand?

Personally when I've need to use a power bank I just ran a cable down the back of my jacket and into the inside of my jacket pocket. Usually I get enough life out of the after market batteries on my Ghost S

My batteries are all at least 4 years old, so dead as f...

So i'm used to ride with a powerbank every single ride, and it works.
Especially on grouprides etc, filming hours on end effortlessly :)

I like to keep everything on my helmet. I hate having to unhook stuff everytime I take off the helmet. The Ghost must have much better battery life than my Hero7. I get like 40 minutes without a powerbank.

You've certainly had your monies worth then :)

These aftermarket batteries that came with it quite often get 2 hours

I was thinking about adding an 8000mAh powerbank on the back of my helmet, but that looked awful and obnoxious. I now have a smaller powerbank with 2000mAh, which is good enough for extending the battery life times 2.

I glued the micro USB cable into the case so it is just a plug n play instead of fiddling with the connector and potentially breaking it.
It looks ghetto, but it is the safest way to mount the cam since it's only mounted with 3M Dual-Lock which lets loose easily with a hard impact, but stays put in the wind.
Can't post a picture because the forum says a server error occured and need to try that again later....

You might need to resize the image if it is from a modern smartphone, often they are too large unedited :)

If you still have issues later on, try pm'ing it to me and I can try add it for you! :)

That looks quite neat. do you ever worry about knocking the camera with it sitting so far out front?
