Posted Videos Will Show In New Threads - For 2 Weeks Testing

One thing we've always struggled with is people coming to the site, posting videos, then not coming back or interacting until they come back to post another video.

One thing I did a couple of years ago to stop this happening was this rule - This brought the site from a spam den, into a community due to members being forced to give back to the forum, communicate and get involved. Blah blah

To also turn the site from spam, to a community was turn the site back into a chat board by shifting focus from just posting videos, into a chat board... That worked really well, considering we're very very 'niche' and not a normal biker board.

One of the most extreme things I did was stop videos from the 'post your video' section being shown under new threads/posts etc. Again, this worked really well. It stopped people just signing up to spam.

However, I am well aware that we're a vlogging community so I'm now going to be testing 'post your video' threads to be shown whenever you search new posts, as a test for 2 weeks to see if that section gains more comments etc. I'd also like to see you guys suggesting other people's videos to be promoted etc.

If I spot anyone abusing this, I'll turn it off

I've found a way to gain more exposure but still keep the main forum, separate from the post your videos threads.

This way allows people to choose to check that part of the forum, or not. You have a choice but it's far less hidden than just a link in the menu.

I'll most likely rejig that menu going forwards
