Hey guys,

I am new to motovlogging and riding in general. I posted my first video this week, got 500 views, I posted my second video yesterday and have 180 views so far. 25 Subs.

Is this volume normal? or sub par?

My goal is to retain those visitors and build a small community of people who care about what I have to say

thanks!

It really depends on the name of the video and what it's about... most of my videos are relatively low view counts, but I posted a 2017 Victory Octane video that got over 600 views. It's not typical, but it's not completely out of the norm.

you probably ride the most common motorbike in the USA so it will get a lot of hits based on that. Your tags will steer folk to it too and if iy has a nice thumbnail then folk will watch it. I guess you need to emulate that first video in future videos to maintain.

I've had the odd random video take off with views like that. Its never the one that I think will either.

What you need to look at is the viewer retention as well. A view doesn't mean much its its only for 10 seconds.

Don't worry, or care, too much about the numbers when you just start off, just focus on building your style for your vids and channel first. Have fun.

A video of mine were I ramble about life in space and other planets had over 300 views while my other vids get around 20-50 with 15 subscribers. I ended up deleting it because of some personal stuff I didn't realize made the cut. I would say you're on the right track if your numbers are that good, don't make it just about that. Just do what you do and you'll find your people. You don't want a load of subs and only get 10% of those views, especially if you're trying to build your own community.

that's makes a lot of sense man thanks for that!

Had a vid get over 2000 views just because it was relevant news, I usually get between 10 and 50 views on my other vids. The one with 2k views wasn't even good. Considering removing it.

That's pretty good! My videos usually get around 50 a week. I do have a How To video though that is almost at 18k.

My walkaround the bike video updates seem to be the most popular of my vlog style ones, I just hit 50 subs today but the walkarounds keep getting views and one is around 300 views now. I posted a trackday video which the views have gone crazy on; that now has over 4k views and was only posted 6wks ago! :)
