POLL: What do you choose at the pump?

I'm sure the topic about gas has been talked about.before but I kind of what to liven it back up a bit so here. So what do you choose and why?

For me I choose 87 for my ninja.250 never used anything else

87 for my Triumph Street Triple. The manual recommends it...so I don't see a reason to buy anything superior. Every now and then I'll run a fuel system cleaner in my bike such as SeaFoam...but I haven't had any problems with 87. I'm not a performance rider either, so it wouldn't make a difference for me getting the expensive stuff.

I ran regular on my other bikes apart from the R6 which I run super. Only because it costs me $17 to fill up and a couple of cents really don't make a huge difference in the grand scheme of things.

I always go for 'regular' petrol here in the UK, which as stated, has an octane rating of 95 RON. Why? Because I've never known any different and I'm too tight to pay for Super Unleaded. Looking at it now though, the higher the better effectively as it reduces the damage on the engine. Although for vintage bikes you'd probably want to take notice of the bio-ethanol content from what I've read. Modern bikes needn't worry so much.

RON vs AKI. The UK and USA use different measurements, our 95 is equivalent to their 91.

I voted 87, but use 89 if I have the option.

I used Super a couple of times. The only difference I noticed was on my wallet.

I use the super stuff, tends to eke out a few more miles from a tank I find. Whether or not I've just become a better rider and the improved fuel consumption is down to me I don't know though.

I get the best mileage off regular, which is pretty normal, and it doesn't knock....so yeah, no reason to spend the extra $1 to fill up with more expensive stuff.

Just pick anythign over 93 which is easiest to grab at the pump.

I've paid about £30 to top up for over 500 miles short and long trips

I don't think it matters what I put in mine. Its only a 125

Yeah it's rubbish, I think it converts as roughly $8.53 for a US gallon over here :?

:shock: Thats absolute craziness! No wonder.why lots of people ride mopeds and motorbikes in the eu its cheaper to fill up then a cager and you really only have to fill up like once a month

Uh, guys, how you pay for it makes no difference. It doesn't matter if it's metered by the gallon, liter, barrel...you're still getting the same quantity of gas per $ (my keyboard doesn't do pounds..) Gas here is simply cheaper than it is there. I think a lot of it has to do with taxes, but you can rest assured that the Brits don't pay $8 a gallon because they buy it by the liter.
