I did mine on an Er-5 and thought it was a pile of junk tbh. Having half a brake lever and a total rust bucket didn't help, mind!

I think the ER-5 is a good commuter bike. The problem is that so many are not looked after properly and deteriorate as a consequence, I think this would especially be the case with rider training bikes!

Surely they can't be as bad as their reputation suggests.

Yeah, a large part of my impression of the bike was it'd clearly been dropped and treated like a dirty little whoore by all the people learning on her... Can't comment on whether it's a decent commuter in a decent state, but certainly felt like there were a lot of other bikes I'd rather have. The Er-6n & ER-6F for example look gorgeous by comparison and ok they might be more expensive, but it all depends on whether you're biking for financial reasons or biking because it's in your heart.

My mod 1 & 2 next month and riding until I save if enough to pay off my current finance.

I wish I was doing a tenth of the stuff some of you guys have said you're doing!

Now that I have my bike, my adventures this year are dependant on a number of factors. The main one is whether my wife goes for it and passes her test, after having done her CBT last year. If so, we'll get her a bike and go for some bike journeys together.

If that doesn't happen then I plan on doing a few journeys either solo or with a few friends for some long weekends, hopefully make it over to the west coast of Scotland a couple of times because it's gorgeous over that side.

Plan on vlogging at some point, but we'll see whether I can easily sort my mic issues out or not.

I agree. Personally, I wouldn't buy an ER-5 over other bikes such as the ER-6f/n, but you are 100% right, it does depend on your reasons for biking. In my situation I ride for both the financial advantages and because its something I really enjoy doing. Other people I know however do not particularly enjoy motorcycling (how I do not understand) and would probably relish the idea of having a basic, economic and powerful(ish) city/commuter bike.

My plans are basically to get out on the bike as much as possible. Excluding commuting to work, of course! I don't seem to get much free time anymore, so the meticulously planned motorcycle holidays abroad will have to be put on hold for the next few years. Maybe a few camping trips, bi-weekly visits to Squires Cafe and occasional trips out to Pateley Bridge will have to do!

my plans are to find some1 to help me fix up the cb750, and while we are doing that im going to modify the DRZ for offroad epicness that even AB would J*** on. Video'd epicness is of course on the menu!

Planning for another season of meets with the guys and gals from the Jinlun Owners Forum . These have been held for the last four years usually from March to October or even November depending on the weather. Meetings take place on the first Sunday in the month and the meeting point is the Oakdene Cafe in Kent. All bikers are welcome to roll up and join in! Will post in the appropriate section when one is planned.

i thought it was a good little bike compared to the 125 moped i was driving around on at the time

I'm planning on spending pretty much every weekend on the bike ;)

Looking forward to that big meet coming up. Long weekend away in Scotland with a few of the guys from here for my birthday in May. Europe with Chessecake :)

Possibly going to the TT. Probably going to Thundersprint in May as well.

Should be a good year :)

I intend on riding as much as i can on a limited pre-uni budget, need to get the bike entirely sorted for at least the next year because i will be skint!

Got the big meet (hopefully!) and doubtless many rideouts, we'll see, just intend on having as much fun as possible really!
