One Bike, Or Two?

Triumph Tiger 1050? MT-09 Tracer? Not full on adventure bikes, but fun, capable weekend, touring and commuting bikes.

Personally I need a 3 bike garage (at least). A dirtbike, a dual-sport/commuter, and a tourer/commuter
I kinda find it funny how in the west many riders have multiple bikes, but then when you're in countries like mine where we have a saying "You only need as many bikes, as you have many asses to put it on."

I think there's an appeal to having multiple bikes for multiple purposes like you do I guess, but then I kind of find it wasteful that most of the time, the other 2 bikes you don't ride just sit in a garage. It get's worse during winter.

Many people over here have a summer and a winter bike, the winter bike being old and tired, meaning the summer bike stays nice and clean away from the salt.

Other reason people have two is that they might have a small 125cc commuter for work in the week and something with a bit more get up and go during the week that they don't want to subject to traffic and a greater likelihood of a collision.

hey dude, i had this problem a while ago and i got megga obsessive over wanting a second bike haha. there were a few things that i looked at when thinking should i do it like types of bikes nd budget and other things lol
i did make a video but as im new i can share it yet but its on my you tube channel (brynn jenkins) , ill share it when ive been on here more :) but i get where your coming from.. for me i just didn't want two bikes that were to similar.

I think my biggest issue with having 2 vehicles or more is the battery and petrol. Bound to always be riding one primarily more than the others.

I had this issue with the VT400 because i ride my FZ16 everyday and the VT400 only once in a while.

Battery in VT400 would sometimes go totally flat and I wouldn't notice until it became irreversibly damaged and I had to buy a new one.

Otherwise I'd have to disconnect/reconnecting the battery and it's pretty annoying to keep doing that everytime i want to ride that bike. Ended up just letting my dad ride it instead.

well i ride a gutless 125 that has little power and 0 storage but i do like the cbr fire blade they look like an awesome bike to rag about

You can actually have a lot of storage if you used saddlebags, sideboxes or top boxes. Other than scooters and touring bikes with built in luggage, pretty much any motorcycle technically has abysmal storage.

Depends on your situation. Where I live it's not that common to have more than one bike, unless the one is a dirt bike or a scooter or something like that. We also have year round riding, so having 3 bikes for different purposes is not a stretch at all. Admittedly I find it hard to imagine that all three would be ridden on a regular basis, but two bikes would be ridden often enough to justify it

My ideal stable right now?

2014 CB1100 w/ ABS (I would sell the 919, it is awesome, but I just love that CB1100 that I will immediately mod with a pipemaster 4 in 4 exhaust).
197x KZ1000 for that vintage sound (and I would totally fair it UP like the toecutter or goose bike from Mad Max).
A supermoto or honda grom... just to screw around with.

You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar

I don't use it often, depends on if I have to take passengers or collect stuff that won't fit on the bike.

I love my Fireblade but Id love something like a KTM 990 adventure as a second bike just so I can do some off-roading and some more adventurous touring. The blade in all honesty though satisfy's my every need at the minute as I have the car for anything that needs luggage space ect. Wouldn't mind something like a CRF250 though, just for some green laning fun.
