Well finally joined!!
Gday all, gday ARidersLife, i was the other GoPro on the Anti Hi-Vis protest ride in melb.

Me - MrFalloffalot.

From - Melbourne (eastern 'burbs) Australia.

Riding history - Apart from stuffing round before i was old enough, on the day that i was 17+9months old, i couldnt wait to line up at VicRoadsCorp. to sit my Bike licence and start riding EVERYWHERE.
That was in 1987, since then WHAT A RUSH!!!!. And still love feeling it.
Allways said if i am too old or paraplegic, im bolting my GPz600r motor to my chair!!!

Job - Started out in life working with my brother at his Mechanic shop, lots of jobs since then. Been self employed for last 25yrs, Property/Commercial Maintenance Services.
Certainly NOT rich, but spent ALL the money on gettin a 'few' bikes in the barn.

Current ride - 1983 z750 'Scrapheap', bought for the '2012 Scrapheap Adventure Ride', cost just under $1000 and did the whole Charity ride (2000klm) and STILL going.
Got few more in the barn, with intentions to have 4 or more on the road as 'Historic/Classic Rego' (25y/old+). Cost is $120 p/yr for 90days use. So 90x4= 360 days use, should be plenty, and for only $480, compared with M/cycle rego which has just gone up over here, to just over $700 PER BIKE!!!

Why i started Vlogging - I started in around 1998/9, but only got a u-tube channel in 2008. Now that i FINALLY got off my arse in 2013, to figure out the password and actually put some Vids up.
If 'Vlogging' is about 'Verbal chat', then alot of my vids only have grunts+moans from falling-off/effort riding, etc.
Never wanted to talk over my vids, cause im the kinda guy, That wont stop!!.

So lots of Rides/Races/Trailbiking/Group rides/4wding and not much talking. I dont have all my vids up on my channel, (im guessing) but i have about 2-3000hrs of footage, which alot of ive never editered, so LOTS of late nights to come.

My Gear - In the 'beginning', i used a JVC Handy-Cam bolted to a peice of board, that was bolted to my gear rack. VERY vibraty, and got alot of crappy whatchable footage this way from 1998 till 2001/2.
After that i bought 'Security' camera's like Lipstick Cams & Matchbox Cams linked to Handycam's & DVR's.
I then got a GoPro Gen1. Fuzzy video, Crackly audio, but its portable.
Soon to update ALL my gear, NOT sure what to get Drift vs Gopro vs Contour etc, as i want a great run like ive had with the GoPro. (NO faults, NO breaks, NO issues, apart from shitty quality).

Ive been editing some of my footage over the years, some trips/rides to DVD. Maybe about 10/12 dvd's. BUT with YouTube's copywrite stuff, i cant just upload coz of all the music on them

The all important youtube channel link - https://www.youtube.com/user/MrFalloffalot
(Only a few Vids, but im working on it)

Thats about it for now, any questions, Ask.
Looking forward to gettin to know a few of you, even go on some rides, paint an Elephant perhaps.

Cheers.
Sean.

Welcome fellow Aussie :) I think it's okay not to talk much in your vids. Most of my stuff is just close calls and ragers.

As for the new camera, Is the GoPro 1st gen 1080p? If so, I'd say keep that :) until you're absolutely sure it's worth forking out $400 for a new one. I personally wouldn't do it until my channel was hugely popular lolol.

If you do want to upgrade, I've heard a lot of faults with the latest GoPro. Everything I've seen about the Drift Ghost has been good, but then the last time I told anyone that they said they'd heard bad things about it haha. I have a DriftHD which I bought for $200 about 2 weeks after the Drift Ghost came out, so it was cheap! Pretty good quality. Maybe go that route, but it depends on your willing price haha I'm just frugal :p

Thanx, hope you all 'inspire' me, to Finally get my footage edited+up lol (some YEARS old)

YES, shouldve called myself 'MrWaffle-on-alot'.
Actually i think its only 720p???. Have had a good run, its about 7+yrs old. Possibly Dusty/Worn 'inner' lens maybe, have replaced the Shell lens (thanx to gravel on the Flat Track vids).

That Drift is a decent price, might google that one, broke ATM, so GoPro 4now it is.
Might look into getting a DVR of sorts too, get some of the Security cams out, just gotta power + cable them, no audio though.
Did bye this peice of JUNK ($130ish) http://www.ebay.in/itm/JXD661-Media-Pla ... 1c351fa7f9 , few years ago. Might look again, see if theyve improved quality (on/off Membrane switch just stopped pressing after a month. GRRR)

Sound ill have to look more at the Forums for Dictaphone/Mic recorder stuff for Audio.

Nice to see a few Skippy's here, i hope to catch-up with Locals and internationals in time.

Cheers.

Welcome Sirfalloffalot... nice flat tracking videos. What bike do you use for that?
Have you worked out your editing software?
See you at the next meetup

I use an 1988 XT600 (motor 1984? idky), std rebuild, Std everything, but Cosmetics (LoL), 'Strait thru' Harley muffler(no baffles) LOUD!!. Dyno'd to match.
Nothing special, but it's their for Fun & Skills development.(No more 'butterflies' on those greasy corners, well as much).

Used to use my Wr426(2001 Std), but i wasnt happy riding it, more power, but too high(seat) and stiff(susp.). Weird in the corners, hard to explain.

I see your a 'Motard' nutter, ever done Dirt Track??, I HIGHLY recomend it, Practice day(all welcome), $65 ish on the day 'All Lic+Costs.' (Plug-Plug lol). http://www.motorcyclingvic.com.au/index.php?id=1886

As far as editing software, ive RIPPED my office apart, cant find Cyberlink disc, Adobe PremPro Keygen not working, and i cant find 'Free' software on-line without Cookies, registration or by promising the Soul of my first born, blah blah blah.

HEEELLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPP

Sean.

Welcome !
yeah i do remember you from the meet.

as for the Audio copyright issues, a 2nd website called Vimeo should be fine to post those videos on as they are alot more
"relaxed" then YouTube is with audio copyright.
