Rant Never Let Someone Work On Your Bike

So true, I service my own bike now. I had a Kawasaki AUTHORIZED dealership and service center change my tires and they left those caps at the end of the swingarm loose and crooked. That was the last time I ever took my bike to a shop. I do ALL of my own work now.

Man it sucks to hear people getting crappy mechanic work done and the piss poor attitude of the mechanic. I would be ashamed to even think of doing work like that or to work with some one like that. We had another out of state aircraft mechanic working locally were I am at do some shortcuts on a 150 prop and the prop came off the airplane during run up before take off, needless to say he lost his certificate, paid a fine, and spent some time in jail. The only thing that kinda sucks about a motorcycle you have to have a special lift sometime to do some of the work.

Dang, sucks. I won't let anyone work on my cars or bikes.

If you want to learn more about motorcycle mechanics, buy a cheap dirt bike and take it apart/rebuild it. Fork seals, top ends, etc. If you can learn yourself it will save you a lot of money and heartache.

Luckily all of the mechanics I've run into around here are pretty decent - haven't had a problem yet except I think one under-filled my oil by a little :( . Even so, they take so long to do anything ~_~ ! I really wish I knew bikes more - I break everything I touch on one ~_~ .....
