You really need some boots and some lower-gear

!... definitely the boots

(they save toes

). I have the Dainese TRQ Race Out Boots which are great

... they're more of a European fit, though, so even though they're made to go on the outside of whatever pants you're wearing, they barely fit my legs on the inside ~_~ . Years of bicycling, I guess >_> .....
As for the pants, get some textiles - they're more versatile... and they're not chaps

. You don't even need to get expensive ones to have them work

. It's always better to be safe than to be sorry

!
...and the helmet

. Whenever you're able to save up the money, get a higher-end helmet... it's hard to believe the difference they make

! I skipped the Shoeis, etc., and got the top-of-the-line Scorpion EXO-R2000 Dispatch helmet... a fraction of the cost of a Shoei, etc., but nice

! So ventilated ~_~ .
Anyways, hope you're able to get all of your gear together one of these days ^_^ ! As they always say - dress for the slide, not for the ride

! heh~.....
