My Mate Had A Whoopsie

Was it on the condition you went and bought a proper bike afterwards ;)

Pretty much ha - This was years and years ago now before I got to mid-life crisis age and got on tracks!

Actually. Am I old enough for a mid life crisis yet?

MCE - Had a crash, told I would get a call about arranging a courtesy bike... got called 2 hours later by a third-party company who are subcontracted by MCE refusing to give me one. Claim went on for over 3 years with VERY little contact i.e. once every 5 months despite calling them being told I would get a phone call back and never did, told if I changed insurers at any point I would lose my NCB bonus despite being protected because of the open claim.

They cancelled my insurance mid-policy, despite it being paid for the year and then couldn't find any record of it and I had to provide bank transaction numbers etc. Was never given a reason to why it was cancelled and told it had been cancelled a month before hand.

Changed my KTM to an identical model, year and colour and premium went up by £200/year without any reason being known, asked if I would save anything if I installed a GPS tracking device and was told it would go up by £150 per year and an admin fee of £40.

They called me up to tell me my policy was coming up for renewal and told me the new difference (Still NCB protected claim closed in my favour.) went up by £1100, ran a compare the market and the MCE quote was #1 @ £200 per year despite being told it would cost me £1650 on the phone. Called up and asked.. told he would speak to his manage and they came back with £1350.. told them about their quote online and he said he couldn't match their quotes online. Was emailed about documents being available on their portal website, they then were all removed and replaced with a payment breakdown - took 4 phonecalls to get a copy of my insurance policy.

Sounds as though you've been through hell and back with MCE. From my own experiences I have to say they are a joke of an insurance company. I know this thread is a little old now but I hope you managed to get all the outstanding issues with them solved because they seem to love taking the proverbial piss out of any of their customers!

Off topic but we have two admins on this site

Me who keeps hurting himself on two wheels (track, off road)

And @Lurch whos very much Rospa and advanced stuff lol

jeez bike looks like a mess, hope there wont be any hidden defects and that the rider wont be anything more then sore. Underwear wise all hope is lost most likely :P

I think it's repairable, but I'd check over the frame first.. then the question comes is it worth the bill? Insurance should payout for it, then perhaps buy it off them for £100-250.

Insurance pays for trackday accident? whats the name of this insurance?

Ok, what would cause the tire to slip off the rim like that?

Manufacturer defect on the bead or maybe inflation problem?
