As a Harley rider, I have been wanting to make a response to this topic lately

I tend to wave to everyone, even the scooters (mainly because I can't tell they are scooters until after I wave, lol!). Some wave back, some don't.

I nod where appropriate to most sports bikes. I have given up with most cruisers, so I don't nod first but if they give me the nod I will nod back. I don't nod to skooters as they generally piss me off doing dangerous things.

Yeah I've had a couple of bad experiences with Harley Riders talking shit about my bike. "Crotch rockets come in through the back" I was told once, weird because I don't consider my bike a crotch rocket. I still wave at them though because the people I've had bad experiences where the worst representation possible of hillbillies.
