Serious Motorcycle Crash Narrowly Avoided

G'day all,
Hopefully you are able to take something away from my little 'experience' I had during a road trip earlier this year and yes; you get to see the footage (I'm not click baiting!). But more importantly I go on to talk about what I learned from this situation and how I many change things / the way I ride in the future.

Hindsight would be a great super power.

Interesting near miss that! That's why overtaking is the most dangerous move a bike can make I suppose.
It doesn't look like the car was accelerating into an over take for you to judge it, it didn't indicate either. But nor did you? You're alive !

No, I didn't see any indication that that lead car was going to stop or that any car ahead of me was going to overtake. I didn't go blaming that guy because it all happened so fast and I wasn't sure I was in the right or wrong. I didn't indicate for long either but I knew I had no one behind me. Maybe if I had indicated for longer that could have prompted the driver to indicate or he could have seen I intended to over take and let me pass. We both could have done things better I guess

I think on balance you were into a move and the car failed to look, it was his/her responsibility to do that before they started the move out. I wonder if they knew you were behind? That may be the sort of driver who does it to other car drivers and doesn't like being overtaken (thats pretty common), and not realising how quick motorcycles are? I had it once where an Audi knew I was behind him as I had been following for miles, but he was driving very aggressively and he pulled out suddenly without warning or indication to block me to overtake a car first when we came to a straight with broken lines, but I had expected it to be honest and thought he might pull out as soon as the no over take lines had gone. He wasn't as fast as my ZZR and I dropped back as there was no way he could make the overtake safetly before the oncoming bend like I would have. Luckily he didn't meet anything on coming. I just think that some car drivers think you can break and swerve back like a car too, they don't realise you can do one or other. Some are just C*NTS lol.
