MICROPHONE RECOMENDATION!

I need a microphone recommendation

I'm currently using the Contour Roam 2 camera, but having issues with the sound (Wind & Hearing my voice)

Any recommendations on microphones I can buy to put in my helmet?

Try some dif windscreens and different spots in your helmet! Also (the ghost has one) but try a mic sensitivity setting on the camera! and if all else fails sell the contour and buy a Ghost  jk but on a serious note try dif mics they have in stock at radio shack! i know when it comes to drift it seems like my drift mic works the best compared to my amazon mic i bought! maybe try a mic that Contour sells? idk im grasping at straws!

There are some high end microphones that folks use ... Which seem to give awesome results ...

But as Decil mentioned .... To start with it's more having/finding the sweet spot in your helmet .... And maybe adding a small fuzzy or foamy windsock to the mic ...

LOTS of vloggers just use cheapo mics and so long as the wire/mic is in good working order .... Then playing with the position will do more initially to improve your audio ...

Behind/poking out of one of the cheek pads is a popular spot .. Depending on the helmet and mic ...

I got a jaycar electronics stereo mic and ended up mounting it in the brow piece just above my eyes of a NOLAN n102 flip face helmet ... (With a drift ghost) ... Works great for visor down clarity with the sensitivity right down.. Still gotta get a proper windsock for it though ... Lift the visor a little and the wind noise is back ... Lift it more and the voice fades out real quick when sitting still ....

Like real estate it's all about location location location!!

with personal experience, I really recommend not using a microphone while driving, I've lost brake and 2 front teeth fell out :(

Can't post links yet but I've been very happy with:

Audio-Technica ATR-3350 Lavalier Omnidirectional Condenser Microphone (search for it on amazon)

Its cheap and effective, long cable so you'll have to mess around with it for a good fit. I wrap the excess cable up and then stuff it inside my visor, does well, ridden plenty of whooped out trails

I use the cheapest ones I can buy on eBay, Check out any of my newer video to see how good they are :) Never had an isuue.

Also check to see if you camera is mono or stereo. I spent a fair bit of money on different mics that wouldn't work till I found out that the Contour+2 would only work in mono.
And doesn't the Roam not have an external mic jack? I've seen some videos on the old YT of people modding their roams to have an external mic.

Techmoan has a review on that and he seems impressed by it.

I just searched on ebay for a microphone and found a knock off of the Sony ECM-DSP70. I have had it for a few months now and it works perfectly.

I picked up the cheapest microphone from Banggood.com. It came to my home (Brisbane) from China for the princely sum of $2.60 including shipping.

Have to say, it works really well...if your not riding with the wind or oxygen anywhere near it, have the angle exactly right and only use it on a Sunday between 12 pm and 12:10pm! Couldn't be happier!

I use an Optimus ME-52 was pretty cheap and have had good luck with it.

I'm using the drift mic, admittedly with a drift. And with sensitivity turned down to one it's proved excellent. Picks up voice well and some noise from the bike but very little wind noise. They are about £17 iirc but well worth it.
