Making Some Effort For 2016

lupin

2016 Solar Bear Champion.
Decided 2016 is the year of me making a effort with Motovloging.

So far I have,
Done a new intro.
Made a new channel trailer.
Ordered Stickers (mostly for myself)
Signed up for every form of social media I can think of.
Got all the bits needed to mount a 2nd camera on the bike, I have had a go-pro for some time so may as well use it.
Participated and intend to complete the Solar Bear challenge.

And finally will make a effort to be more active in the community and on other channels.

I currently have 19 subs and most of my videos get around 20-30 views

My goal here is to get the views and the retention rate up, then with a bit of luck that will help the subs grow. I'm not going sub hinting I'll leave that for Sean Connery.

Will keep this thread updated with what I am doing in the hope it can help others with growing their channels, and I hope its not a what not to do thread as I really do want some sort of success.

Good luck man im new to motovlogging and working just making each video better than the last ATM my 2016 goal is 100 subs and atleast 50 new vids. now if i dont get it... fuck it im having fun, but that seems reasonable enough really i just want to enjoy the ride and if a few others come along im down!!!

Goals are good to have, not having goals are fine too. As long as you enjoy making your videos and not too concerned about the rewards (views/subs/etc), should be a win-win.

Good luck & ride safe. Happy new year!

To be honest i do want views and subs i want to make something good that others enjoy, but im not trying to be a big fish in the motovlog game. Just here to extend my love for bikes farther than the road.

Happy new year to you as well

Motovlogging is a really big pond, so don't be deterred if any chance you do find the progress is slow. Cheers!

Good luck dude, Love the intro. Looking forward to seeing how you get on :)

It's all about the enjoyment :)

If you have 19 subs and get 20 views per video, it means you have good engagement from your viewers! As far as retention goes, just keep the videos short and the content interesting and you will have no problem.

I am really making a go on making motovlogs. first did it years ago back in 2009-10 want to make more regular content

Stickers are kinda what you expect for the money they cost.

Think next time I'll get vinyl cut not printed. Biggest problem is sticking them to anything with a curve.

Still happy with them though.

Also my first observations video had some good initial hits. Mostly from fellow motovlogers I'd say, so thank you to those that viewed and commented. So will see where it goes from here.

So I've decided to give google advertising a go. Just on my channel trailer, to see what would happen.\

Only been running a couple of days, with a very modest budget of $3 per a day.

You can clearly see when the $3 kicks in though

Still waiting to see if its going to transpire into solid views and retention though.

Also hitting google+ pages fairly hard with links as well.

And have put $20 towards promoting my facebook page. I had in the past tried promoting a couple of video's with no sucess, so will give the page a try.

Will report back in a couple of weeks when the money runs out with the results.

Currently at 35 subs as of now.

Basically so far I'm going to agree. I'm up 12 likes this week. However they do seem genuine.

When I promoted a video I would say they were all fake likes.

Next step. Setup a domain with a simple redirect to youtube.

www.imlupz.com

Also allows me to use it as a associated website allowing me to use annotations to redirect the other social media I use.

So one for facebook, one for twitter and one for instagram at the moment.

Also did a adwords campaign for my latest upload to see what happens.

Adwords says 220 views in a very short time. Youtube says 106.

Also think its eaten up all the money I put in already, might have to check.

So here at the Google / Youtube advertising after a week. You can clearly see the spike where the advertising kicked in.

The important part for me though is the watch time. Average time of 44 seconds of a 50 second video, meaning most people are viewing the whole thing. Also up 7 subs for that week, but that is mostly from other methods.

Have changed my method slightly for this week, with setting a time period for the it all to appear.
