Picked up a new helmet, now to mount the cam. I’m not sure why nobody makes this stuff, I made a mount out of some scrap aluminium, attached it with 3M tape. Here was the process.
I know what you mean, I had concerns about metal. I wanted to make this whole thing out of plastic but working with metal was just easier. I figure with the width of the piece in the event of an accident it’s unlikely to pierce the helmet. I have the same size aluminum and plastic bolts to give the cam the ability to break away. I’ll probably change it to a plastic bolt, thanks.Personally I wouldn't want a metal bolt attached to my helmet, but each to their own, and it's just my opinion. It's a neat solution for sure and good to see someone else who knows how to make stuff!
I've got the same helmet and cameraYou can achieve the same result in a safer manner using moldable glue like Sugru, no need to attach anything metal to your helmet. But its your choice! The AGV helmet I use has a very pointy chin on it and it worked great.
