So I'm thinking I should rename this advanced technique for americans, and don't bother watching for everyone else  I had no idea there was such a difference!

and from what I'm reading our MSF course is the same as you CBT except you can go by a hayabusa after you take it

Yea pretty much. I'd still keep it the same. just because your riding skills are the same, braking might be slightly different due to it being down to comfotability I can brake with 2fingers as I have short levers yet if I were to ride my SV tomorrow I'd use all 4 because it's a longer lever.

personal experainces really, but what you cover is the same other than rules all the guied lines on riding are correct just make them how you would I'm sure we'll all watch and learn something new.

I'm with azz3r

Just do it! It'll be the most structured series of vids out there. It'll be a good thing!

Ah but we can't ride at all without a CBT. The MSF is optional no? ;)

It depends on the state. In some states you have the option of taking a permit class, which is an 8-hour-on-a-saturday-i-don't-care-lets-get-though-the-book type of class. If you do that, your only restrictions are that you can't ride after dark, and you can't have a passenger. After that you need to take your state practical test, which is essentially riding around town for Maine. The second option is taking the MSF class, which is a 2 day classroom + practical class, and you walk away with your license if you pass their test. The route most people seem to take though is nothing. Since you don't need a license to buy a motorcycle, and the dealer doesn't care if you die or not, people just go out and buy motorcycles without ever sitting on one. Thats the scary part, and part of the reason I want to do this.

And I actually did start it today, but I have a cold, so every couple seconds theres a *sniff* I didn't notice myself doing it at the time, but looking at the video now I'm cracking up  So I think it may have to wait till I'm feeling a bit better. I also have a week off from school coming up that will give me plenty of time to get all the filming done

I'd dispute always going through amber too, you should be planning ahead. Amber in the uk means stop if possible.

amber in america means stop if you can too, but to most of the american public it means "i can probably make it before it turns red"
