Lets Talk Mic Placement!

I've tried the cheek pad and it works okay but can be uncomfortable at times, I currently have have it taped to the chin bar because, well laziness, but it picks up too much breathing noise. That's the curse of a nose broken many many times.

Another cheap chinese mic user taped to the centered vertically and horizontally in the chin bar. No issues with wind, has a good mix of engine sound with voice. A lot of this has to do with helmet design I believe.

Mines an HJC CL-16. It's a pretty bare bones helmet...I run it with no chin curtain or breath deflector. I do have a breath deflector/box that I put in when it's cold. Once that goes in I have to watch my breathing or you get all the huffing noise.

Only issue I have is if I run with the visor open...then I get wind whistling.

I'm running the HJC IS-17 (genesis colour scheme) but I do use the breath deflecter. I have the mic taped into it (well, using a sticky plaster from the first aid kit) it stops the wind noise somewhat but it really amplifies the breathing noise. Especially when breathing through the nose like I do.

Mine is in the breath deflector, I think thats what its called. Near the nose area. I just gotta be sure not to breathe to hard out my nose or it picks up some heavy breathing.

I've just taken mine out of the cheek pad for that reason.
