Hey guys, thought I might as well post my first video while I am at it. Below is a mobius camera setup with a cheap $15 microphone and a buck in windscreen material. I just record with my smartphone using the 4 conductor jack. It needs additional foam, but what do you guys think?

I think the audio for the price is really good nice job and liked your video well done bud very impressed !

Nice job - sounds good! Great idea to get people up and running at low cost.
One local issue - we never close our vents here in Australia ;) but positioning your mic off to the side, even slightly under the cheek pad, means you can have the vents open without the wind sound.
I posted a similar video in this section yesterday about how to get sound from intercom onto the camera for inexpensive dual vlogging. I think it's great to provide cheap and effective solutions for people who want to motovlog, as it can be expensive getting started :)

Great trick... sound pretty good :) ! I only see two things :o :...
1. The microphone is so close to your mouth, I hear clipping in the recording :( . Like everyone else mentioned, position it off to the side... not just to open the vent but to position the microphone a little further from your mouth, to prevent clipping ;) .
2. (...and this is minor ;) ) Not all helmets are made the same :p .

...but still, pretty good ^_^ ! Cheap mics are the way I go :D ;) ~.....

i thought of doing something similar when i got my first setup. but then i found the ion air pro on sale on amazon for pretty cheap. i got a cheap mic and spliced it in to the circuit board of the camera. worked pretty well, i thought. it stayed under $100 (barely) and i thought the video quality was pretty good.
