Joining A Network?

Hey since there is a few big names on here i thought i would ask a question. Is it worth joining a youtube network?

I'm on a network but the only thing it provides is some security.

If you monetise through adsense you need to be prepared to have your adsense banned without any communication possible with Google to find out why.

If i join a network i could lose my AdSense account for no reason?

I doubt that very much unless it's a dodgy network that encourages people to click adverts on your account, which they get a cut.

Some networks do that but it's getting very rare

I've never heard of that happening.

What I meant was if you go with AdSense instead of a network (they're mutually exclusive) then you can lose the ability to monetise your videos at all (including being blocked form ever joining a network) if you make a mistake or are unlucky.

See the YouTube forums here:
https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!forum/monetization-on-youtube

I had my account disabled due to "invalid click activity" with no option to discuss the issue with anyone. I have always run an adblocker so I've never even seen an advert on YouTube, let alone clicked on one.

My only option was to create a new channel without using AdSense.

shit i've already used AdSence

It's not a problem. You can switch to a MCN whenever you want, and AdSense works well if you are big enough to get a direct contact at Google (over 150k subs I think it's currently at) or are meticulous with your account.

Note that when you signed up to AdSense you agreed to check your account daily and report any odd viewer behaviour to Google.

What I'd want out of network more than money would be more engagement, however you can only lead a horse to water.

I'd like more regular viewers (I also need to sort out regular content again before that), although I've seen a steady growth over the last 18 months to getting on for 350 subs and 150-250 views per video in the main.

I don't know how much these networks can offer in growth vs organic growth, as the more subs/views/engagement you have, the wider your reach will be naturally anyway.

Like any TV show, if it's good, word spreads, if it's runnish, nobody talks about it or it gets poor reviews so people look elsewhere first.

I'm interested too in what they really provide...especially for smaller channels.

I'm not convinced networks get your more interactions so I have not joined. I've yet to hear any legit stories of "I joined XYZ" and just because of that I now have 50k more subs. I don't do anything dicey and I'm not that large so I don't think I need protection. I feel like all it would do is take 20% of my measly adsense money per month.

Read through the comments but still not sure I'm understanding it all the way. What do you mean by "network"?

I do get e-mails from companies(?) like UltimateContentTV / BBTV / Platinum Network / MadTV / etc, are you talking about those?

I usually just delete the e-mails. Never had any thought to team up with them.

@SighBored emails, or youtube mails?

networks are like pimps basically. They make sure no one steals your content, if someone does, they fight for you. They also promote you a little, give you access to designs etc that will make your videos better.
You just have to churn out x amount of vids and make sure they meet the networks standards.

Well , thats the theory anyways. They dont always do it

@Marbro_za They send e-mails directly to me, not thru YouTube, claiming to be part of a blahblahblah network and stuff, and want me to join them, there's some mention of increasing views/subs/revenue sharing etc but I didn't bother to check further..
