I'm not trying to get into a discussion about the second amendment or anything

(really

~_~ )... but I'm sure if our forefathers back then saw fellow Americans blowing off the heads of schoolchildren, etc. with uzis and tommy guns (all they had then were spitballs and military uniforms

~), then they may have worded the second amendment differently

. One of the reasons I liked the Brady Bill - it kept up with the times

.
...and that's all I'll say ~_~ .....
That is so true RoninK6, but it has a lot to do with the liberal media and their viewpoints on it. I guess I will play "devil's advocate" here in this matter. I guess I will have to disagree with the Brady Bill, because of the fact that it was born out of the chief person getting shot in the head when the bullets were meant for President Reagan. I do not agree with that mentality of trying to assassinate a president because someone disagrees with his policies. All they have to do is to not vote for that candidate, plain and simple. The Brady Bill just shows how this government can become politically corrupt based on a paranoia, and a hysteria instead of really investigating the issue and making a logical, and sensible choice about the issue, and not based on a political action committee's viewpoint or "influence" to get a bill passed. What is not available in D.C. is lack of common sense and purpose, along with a logical and sensible debate about it that is free of political or financial influences to the contrary.
The NRA is negligent in making people responsible for gun ownership, and responsibility in my opinion, and I have yet to see them do anything about responsible gun ownership and responsibilities of gun owners. Me, personally, I do not own a firearm, and it is my choice not to own one at this time. The second amendment does grant each citizen the right to keep and bear arms, but the founding forefathers should have worded it differently, I agree. However, the constitution has been misinterpreted so many times, that people do not really read the whole thing through, or comprehend it, because people want it to be politically correct according to their versions of it, and not what it really truly means.
The way that the second amendment has been misinterpreted, is mind boggling. I do not think the founding forefathers wanted to have Americans blowing off the heads of school children with uzis and tommy guns, but where is the dividing line between that and that the ignorant parent that refuses to either lock up their guns, and keep it out of sight of a kid? Where is the dividing line between responsible gun ownership and people who buy guns for criminal activities? Where is the logic and common sense anymore? Most bills are passed nowadays as long as they have another non issue that can be pushed through congress that detracts from the original intent of the bill which makes it confusing to even comprehend. It is like putting together that has nothing to do with anything, but the politicians have to triangulate it somehow with another thing that is an non issue, or is not related to the original wording of the bill, just so it can get past the corrupt politicians in D.C. to make it to the president's desk so he can either sign it, or veto it.I hate to say this, but the schoolhouse rock videos really do describe a lot, and what has really been lost here in America due to political correctness at:
as well as this one at:
and this one describes what the original constitution was supposed to be before the current politicians screwed it up at:
, and forgot that this video describes what America really is to others from other countries at:
