Is drift HD waterproof?

I have the new drift HD with the screw on back. Is it waterproof or do I still need the cover on the back?

It is stated to be "water resistant". With mine however I have found it to be very much storm proof. I got caught in 2 - 3 hours of tropical storm like rain and it was fine, I recorded the whole journey too. And I was using the non water resistant case. So from my experience it is very much rain proof. Just dont go throwing it in a river.

Only if you have the waterproof rear cover on. If you have the microphone-friendly cover on, it leaves out a small corner of the waterproof seal.

The back screws in and I remove a grommet to put microphone into it.
Rain proof is all I need.
