Intro, Or Not Intro

My intro is 7 seconds but I might cut it down since the intro footage now contains videos of a bike I dont have any more lol. I think 3- 8 seconds is long enough. Some intros are just way to long and get tedious.
 
From a viewers perspective, I think a short intro animation after 5-10 seconds of video is the best. The 5-10 seconds of video should set up the vlog, and get non-subs interested, then the after-intro should be really quick, just enough to get your branding graphic in someones mind so they recognize you later. It should be short enough so that if someone tries to click through it, the intro is already over before they can click.

If you can't do a cool animation, consider just sticking with an outtro, and a semi-transparent logo in a corner of the vid. I tried an after intro but it came out pretty stupid so I'm dropping it.
 
Definitely go with an Intro, its a nice way to open up to your video as well as flash your Brand/Logo across everyone's face so that they know exactly who they are watching! :D

But its also necessary to keep it short, approximately 5 seconds or less otherwise its just too long to kill the Excitement.
 
I am for a intro :) but I dont like the intro's thats around 50sec long :o
and I really hate the vids that are intro around 1min then content 10sec ...
 
Is this the weekly (mandatory) "Intro or No intro" thread ?

See no problem with this. As long as its not too long. It adds a certain "signature" / creative expression, to your videos, perhaps?

Definitely intro. It's brand identity, viewers will associate the music and images you use with your channel. Short and memorable. Think it makes your videos look a bit more professional and creative like others have said

Show a quick, baity highlight in the very beginning, a good/ the best part of the video, and then a no longer than 5 second intro, and then get into the video.
 
I currently have one, I do plan on making it better. Short and to the point. I may not even us music in the new one, just some sound effects. Similar to YummiR6 with the motion graphics. I think that one is perfect.
 
I would really like to have some critic my intro's have 2 different, can't link tho due to postage count not high yet :P one for stunt vlog and one for normal or other types of vlog videos =) made a new one today with the updated logo in it! both around 5sec long, quick clip from the vid then intro followed by the rest of the video is my new recipe :D

Intros are tricky! if you do it keep it under 5 sec longer then that and you start to have skips over and that will miss up you retention time and then put you lower on the search results and mess with your sub box sent out. Remember as a content creator your main audience is in a world that promote ADD and you have to keep it interesting and intros become repetitive very fast!

that makes a good channel trailer but not a good intro it to long people will start to click away after 5 seconds 10 max
 
I do a brief highlight clip then a card to read, then video. I did do a collaborative video with another motovlogger recently and added a cliffhanger after the last card to let the viewer get a taste of what is coming up in the next part of the series.

I have no official video intro clip. I have read that other than the logarithm, you should cull the video down for a hyper 12 year old.

But as few subs I have, what do I know?

click away after 5seconds 10max? the intro is 5sec flat :P I did not mean the whole video =) just the first 5sec motomisc intro. and i put a bit of the video befor the intro on the last clip =) sry for misleading. gonna put both intro's up after eachother any minute with my updated logo =)
 
Here is my intro's embedded now, please remove it im making something i shouldn't :)
Critic would be awsome =)
