WANTED: editing dummy needs help creating an Intro

Currently running: Windows Live Movie Maker

I'm a complete noob at all this software editing stuff.

I need some help a tutorial of some sort ?
(I want to learn how)

Better editing program and someone to teach me the basics?

Hope this isn't too much to ask. Iv'e always said it dosen't hurt to ask if you don't know. I hope someone is nice enough to throw me a bone and guide me step by step through the learning process so that I can do this stuff on my own.

Thanks, Didn't mean to sound desprate here, Just need some help!

You can make REALY basic intro with the Movie Maker. Just get some interesting footage (no need for long, 5-10 seconds is okay), slap some music, title and fading to beggining and the end. Voila, you're done. But if you want to have some realy nifty intro with effects, I'd consider getting the After Effects or at least Sony Vegas.

Natural progression. As mentioned above you can start simple with some pic(s) and music. Then one day step your game up to some better editing software. I scoured youtube for idea, there are lots of guides for each bit of software out there. If you get really stuck then maybe someone on here will help you out. Good luck!

Are there any torrents out there for sony vegas that don't have a virus attached to them? Checked some out on isohunt but the comments all say its a virus any suggestions?

Im a bit picky about my video but I think the main point about any video is pre-planning. Have an idea before you start or it will take you ages and you'll be picking fault at it and never fully happy. I do anyway but then I'm from a creative background and can pick flaws in all my work.

I've got a few ideas for future video but am still playing around with his i think they will best work.

If need be, sketch ideas out. Write ideas down. The more interesting you make your video, the better captive audience.

I'm thinking lately that there are far too many same old bike videos on YT. "Here's one of us on a ride. Here's one of us on a different ride". Whilst these are all well and good (not including Vlogs) they need to have a little something more than everything else to be unique... if that's what your after.
