Insta360 One X2

Well it looks like it is coming, I really hope it is waterproof and offers 60fps at 5.7k, I also hope it splits it's videos seamlessly like GoPro does so there is no time gap between files when recording longer videos, I think that is possibly asking too much though :)

The teaser video they have shared does suggest it will be waterproof at least!

I've been put on the naughty step on the Insta360 community page on Facebook for posting the above pic as Inst360 are trying to keep folk in "suspense" as to the new camera. Has made me chuckle that they have stopped me posting on there until November :D

What do you mean parameters for shooting?
I bet if you filtered the complaints, most will be from people who have a phone or PC below the minimum requirements or from when the software was first released. 360 footage is a lot of processing.
When I first got my One X, and the PC suite was new, I blamed the software for my inability to operate it properly, I imagine again that the folk crying are doing the same.
TBH, I am not really interested in a lot of the effects that they have added, I just want to reframe to 1080 and then add it to my other footage, is a really easy workflow. The most annoying thing with my workflow currently is from the GoPro, because they have stopped the GoPro Quick from recognising cameras so have to remove the memory card from my 8 to get the footage off of it :-)
Am not saying it doesn't have glitches, but what cameras these days is without issues? and can any of them do the magic 3rd person views? :-)

Ahh, I guess live feeds etc are not things I look for in a camera so hadn't realised that, although on the Insta360 help pages, it says that the camera can live stream through an Android phone! :)

You can def change the video settings though, at least items like resolution and FPS. That is what I like about the 360 cameras, including the GoPro Max, (which I don't really use as a 360 camera anymore, just in Hero mode), is that you do all the editing and correction in post processing :)

These days I do all my editing on PC as it saves faffing around moving files onto the phone and then onto the PC again after.

Interested to see what improvements have been made. I too have been awaiting the X one coming down into my kind of price range.

Now I have upgraded my computer and custom built it, it will definitely be able to handle the processing with ease.

I do see myself getting a 360 cam someday, but I think I'm going to wait a couple years for the tech to mature. It sure would be super handy as a secondary motovlog camera though, allowing for a nice variety of cam angles.

I agree. Some of the shots achieved with it are great, adds a different angle (literally) to vids.

if you do, get a decent one, i bought a cheaper one, and the resolution is not great, the apps are.... lackluster.... i bought it to test, and iv used it like 3 times cos its just not good enough to work with, and the workflow and features are just not there,

Aye tbh I'm done with buying cheap cameras now as quality just isn't there and it makes using multiple angles a bit crap as the poor quality shows through.

It doesn't do that either sadly, 4k50 I think, or 5.7k30, basically it is a waterproof One X with a bigger battery and a screen I don't care about. The waterproofing to 10m is my main reason for getting it

Yes, the waterproofing and improved stabilization seem to be the things most important, over the previous version. The screen and other tweaks do not seem that important for me. I did start hoping for 60fps though, while waiting for this. But no resolution nor framerate increase.
