I can't afford to bin my Deauville. If I did the same as your photos, the cost of the repairs would be considerably more than buying a newer 650 Deau...

You'd only bin it for pushing too much or above your level..... Track days are fine if you know your limits and not get hit up or starting chasing people

You'll learn more about you and your bike in one day than you would in a years worth of riding

It's tempting! On novice days do people keep the hell out your way too, as in keep a distance when passing.

Trouble is I have no leathers and need an approved helmet, neither of mine are.

Well without leathers, no track day ;)

I've never been checked for my lid but I'd only use one with a sticker etc

Novice groups are way slower than the other groups so you will have loads of room. The key is knowing when to give room and when to take a spot in front. No different to the roads really.

If I liked it, I'd get an old 600 and a bike trailer.

You can get a 600 something for less than a grand and track prepped. If you waited for winter, maybe cheaper as the racers just want to get rid.

I'd love a CBR 600rr for the track. I love the way they tuck in at bends and take a pounding. I'm hoping to race next year do will need newer.

Track bikes hold great value as well

Different topic but this is a good read about track days http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=863374

I wouldn't be buying one any time soon anyway! The mid-late 90s 600s round here seem to be doing prices of £1100-£1400 at the moment, up £2-300 on Jan/Feb time.

Mrs Lurch is spending all the money at the moment :)

There's some saying about the day you think you've learned it all will be the day it will bite you in the ass or it should be the day you give up riding.

Whow... that looked painful for both you and your mechanical friend!

But like mentioned before this comment, it's about the best place to lay it down.

Neck and shoulder is iffy but I'll live. The bike needs new fairings and just had a major service and overhaul of the carbs etc.

Track bikes can be quite cheap to fix as you want solid, not pretty
