I know some of us use modular helmets and go with a side mount. While that is good it is not 100% field of view so there will be action going on just out of the view.

What if a 360 was mounted on the chinbar and we used directed POV to aim the direction in edit?

The image would have 100% field of view and only perspective change would be the slight increase in height from closed to open.

Just an idea I wanted to pass on to anyone interested.

My last 360 vid was edited on my phone while I had a bath... it is quite stressful so I thought the hot bath would sooth my brain! :D

The Insta360 One X is not too awful when editing into a fixed window vid on a phone, it does turn into a grind when you select a point rather than a direction though!

I like to have a bit of the helmet showing but if I want a wider FOV, I mount the camera on top of the helmet.

I use a flip/modular helmet and use a Drift Ghost S and you do lose the fov near the helmet. On the 360 idea it seems like a good idea actually. The only thing that I've found is compared that standard 1080p cameras the 360 quailty isn't quite there. But like the whole editing front I've heard about it, it should improve over time.

Again a cool idea.
