I Want Another Cam....

@AndyManCam:
Just watched your comparison video.
How long does your battery last on the AS30?
Also where did you bought it? The cheapest offers I find are about 145€, you said you paied 120€. Was that just the cam, or with mounts and waterproof case etc...?

And one more thing: What the hell do all these different endings mean? AS30V, AS30VE, VD, Vthis and Vthat... And winter edition, or whatever-edition...? Completly irritating!

The more and more I look into it, the feeling of the mobius being superior to all other actions cams in my bugdet (video quality wise) rises...
If I could just get the Mobius' picture, with a better low light abbility, more power and a smarter case design... Also 60fps might be nice.

Love the Sony so far. If I end up getting an additional cam, I would probably go with something cheap, like one of the knockoffs from China that techmoan loves so much.

...or just buy an older/used Sony Action Cam off of ebay :p ~

I haven't been on here for a little while because my Drift failed entirely. The USB port on the camera was loose and would no longer charge the device so I was buggered. The camera was about 20 months old too so I thought that was going to be that until I could buy a new camera (and this isn't a high priority for me right now).

On the off chance I decided to contact Drift Innovation and see if they could repair the camera for me before I stripped it down and tried myself. Not only has the customer service over the last week been great but they asked me to return the camera to them which I did. I was hoping a repair and or maybe a "we had a go but couldn't fix it here's your camera back" but they sent out a new camera as a replacement. They must have dispatched it as soon as they received my old one.

Not only am I surprised but I'm impressed.

You are actually the reason I bought the AS30V :)

I didn't know that! I'm honoured!

How are you finding it thus far? Audio settings a little bit sensitive to ambient noise? That's my main and probably only gripe so far! Makes the videos engaging and immersive, but also makes them a bit noisy!!

Sorry for the slow delay here.

My battery lasts about 2 hours. 2.5 if i use 30FPS.

I bought both on ebay, but one came from Conrad and the other from Saturn. I think maybe the timing was good as they were shifting old stock to make room for the new as200v. though 1 was €100 and the other €140 (with bike mount accessory kit).

VD means it has the 'Hundgeschirr' to mount it to your dog.
VE I THINK comes with a chest mount.
VB is with bike mount kit
VR is with remote control.

The cameras are all exactly the same, it's just the kit thats different.

Though check thoroughly as some sellers just label it wrong becayse THEY don't get what it means! I ordered a 'AS30 VB' from Saturn (ebay) and they sent me a standard camera, but a seperate package with 1 handlebar mount. So it was missing 75% of the accesories it was meant to have! So I sent it straight back and gave them terrible feedback. Jokers!!

A very good idea. Especially now that the new X1000V and the AS200V are still fresh. Lot's of people doing the ebay shuffle to get themselves the newest toy!

Me personally, I plan to build a massive family of sony cameras! I won't stop until I have the full set!!
