I love car drivers!

They don't need to be on the phone, sometimes. I've got a couple of snaps on video from this week-end with people doing crazy stuff - tempted to upload stuff.

Send the link to the police. What he did cleanly breaks the rules of the highway code. Whether the police will do anything or not, however, is a completely different matter.

Also, this is what happened shortly after as I overtook...

I hit 74mph, do I post the video?

I doubt very much anyone will chase you down for doing 74 in a video where i'm sure it's reading 10% over AND you changed the gearing for that day. ;)

that guy is é f**king prick. and yeah I'd like to see the full thing. I've been faster on some videos and haven't been shot (yet)

Wow. What a bastard.

Now THAT you can send to the police! You didn't do a thing wrong with pulling back in.

tell us what happened or block out the bottom inch of the vlog :P

Well, I'll happily tell you! I'm sleeping on the decision whether to upload or not, I've made the video with liberal helpings of blur.

So at the end of the uploaded video, the lanes merge and it becomes a dual lane on the oncoming side with a broken line our side, thus allowing overtakes. The Peugeot is right behind the lorry going down this hill, but there is oncoming traffic so he's stuck there. I look ahead and see a huge gap in the traffic and go for an overtake, indicating and life saver-ing as usual. As I come level with his door/bonnet he veers out, as you can see in the picture. I pull back in after the lorry after whizzing past at about 75mph whilst simultaneously giving the Peugeot guy the finger over my shoulder as well as laying on my horn as he went for me. Once past the lorry I drop my speed back to the limit-ish, to notice him coming up quickly in my right hand mirror, if I'd stayed where I was I might have lost a mirror, or maybe soiled myself so I pull left a bit and he blows by. I left it at that, my poor little restricted bike can't handle much speed wise, if I had no restriction I'd have gone straight after him and kicked his god damn door in.

If I were thinking straight, and not shocked/furious at what he had just done I'd have left it at him cutting me up, but I just had to go for it...

75 for an overtake would be acceptable as long as you reduce your speed back down as you did, still I doubt I would upload it without some form of covering the speedo :P I had a guy on the motorway doing 70mph 4 foot from my gf's rear wheel, she's not a speed freak so when she could get into the inside lane she did but I already had the rage, I gave persuit and needless to say I was fuming, I dont think I have ever been so fast on a bike chasing this guy down the motorway, it's only when I realised I had the satnav and I couldn't see my gf that I slowed back down

Thats the worst of it, I persoanlly wouldn't have bothered to overtake due to knowing what he was like on the road & ovbiosuly not caring for other road users (like yourself). No doubt he's going to crash at somepoint driving like this.

Too many car drivers think they own the road, I had one today where I filtered past him but he wouldn't let me back in, when the traffic lights turned green I just delayed my pull away waved and left him. Some are nice & give way, but others are total 2'wats.

With the clarity of hindsight, I'd never have taken a stab at overtaking that guy, but the red mist had descended.

To be honest, in that situation I'd have been more likely to leave him as far behind as I could. Better to have them behind than in front, in my opinion.

Maybe you should have expected something daft from him and given him a lot more room when you went for the overtake, though? Not that it excuses him being a total cock-knuckle.

I think the opposite. Better to just let him dick about where you can see him than have him follow you, ram into you or fuck around behind you.

Just road rage on both sides. I'd not put it to the police. Speeding is an absolute offence.

Not if your overtaking though, is it?

Theres no reason to overtake if the guy in front is doing the speed limit. You can overtake only within the speed limit. Otherwise everyone would just claim they were overtaking when they get caught speeding

I'm not sure about that... Technically the Highway Code says to overtake as quickly and safely as possible. If you have 1000hp per tonne then better to use that to ensure you're in the opposing lane for the shortest time possible, and then return to the posted limit.

I don't think most Police would pull you for that unless you kept the throttle pinned after the overtake. Then again, undoubtedly some would.
