I don't know if it'll work, but if it does it'll take the "I'm a motovlogger" giant arrow off your head while allowing 1080P and 60fps with audio recording and mic in the helmet all rolled into one.

I have ordered the bits, they gonna take a while to get here but once they do I will reveal more and also footage too if it isn't a fail!

am going to mock something up today on an old crash helmet with a broken camera so won't get footage but will be able to see if it all fits!

Ok, well it is definitely doable to an extent. I can mount the camera:









But think it will have too much noise for the mic to be usable so audio would have to be done from a different source. It is also not going to be waterproof in the slightest so could only be used in warm dry days.

So as a tool for a motovlogger I don't think in this form it is really viable but it does have potential. A trackday rider might find it more usable as the TDO's don't like head mounted cameras which is incredibly frustrating, and this would not stick out the side or top of the helmet (and is very discreet) so would possibly allow for some headcam footage that would usually be unobtainable.

I'm not about to drill a hole in my current lid so this will have to remain an idea in the back of my mind until I maybe book another trackday and just use an old helmet rather than my current road one.

Looks really good but unfortunately that kind of modding will invalidate the helmet safety certificate
If insurance found out after an accident then its certain they wouldn't pay up.

It would be great if a manufacturer could incorporate this kind of thing in future.
The cam would have to be able to swivel a bit for different riding styles. (cruiser vs sport)

The lid I put it in is well past it's sell by date but yeah, drilling holes in your crash helmet is not the best of ideas, on a trackday there generally is no insurance to claim from so would be at own risk.
