Serious I Damage The Mistress In A Minor Motorbike Accident

SwissMotard

The Swiss Motard

This time on The Swiss Motard:
- I chicken out mid-corner
- I damage The Mistress...
- ...and I damage my confidence

I thought for a while about making this video, but I think it's important that I show people my mistakes too so they can hopefully avoid them.

Could have went over it! Glad that wasn't the case!

Quick tip for dual videos that I found helpful for syncing (just noticed there was like a 15 frame delay between the two). Whenever I start each camera I wave my hand in between each camera so I can sync them both to show my hand passing threw the middle of the screen. All following videos (mine breaks up into 17 minutes blocks) imported should be perfectly synced from there.

Thanks for uploading!

I sync them by beeping the horn and then aligning the horn audio peaks in my video editor, but I think I messed up the sync at some point during my editing :(

I was very lucky there, and it's a very cheap lesson to have learnt to make me improve my riding and be safer.

I'm glad the response has been positive, I did wonder about uploading it or not as it was a stupid mistake to make but I wanted people to think about their own riding too.

Yes... the nut crusher. It has been years since I last felt that. I had to rewind to see what damaged your bike, the video hid the danger so well. Then I noticed the curb. That could have been a nasty spill!

Could have been a lot worse, glad nothing major happened. Nice looking road ;)

It's part of the Jaunpass mountain pass, I have some excellent footage of the pass before I was a moron that I'll put into a video soon.

I had to make sure I stopped before the snow marker poles, hence the squashed balls. Had I not stopped before that I would definitely have dropped the bike when I clipped the bars.

Good old target affixation
Not in this case, although I have done that in the past. I made this mistake well before that would have been an issue.

I had just started the lean and for some reason felt strange (lack of experience/confidence/panic, I'm not too sure) so I pulled the bike slightly more upright which is a really stupid thing to do in a corner :(

I'm glad the damage is minimal to that beautiful bike! I've had a stupid accident recently aswell (also lack of experience) I was making a U-turn in a small street and I was riding on a small piece of grass, I gave a little to much gas and my rear tire began to spin which made the bike shoot from under me.. Landed hard on its side.. Damage to the side-fender, bent handlebars, piece of the brake lever broke off, a little damage to the engine cap, a little damage to its belly and minor damage to the Akra-exhaust.. 160 euro to get new handlebars sorted.. I've sure learned my lesson!

Ouch, sounds like I got away with my call to wake up in comparison!

Well I'll try not to damage this one:

Not going to put it on until I've completed a motorcycle training course in Switzerland. They teach you all about how to handle your bike properly (including getting on and off it while it's moving!) and how to ride the mountain roads.
