I’m not sure what to do.

I have a GoPro 4 black.

I have a Sena Audio pack that never seems to work correctly.

I have ordered the Revl, if it ever comes out.

I have been looking at the Sena Prism (not the tube) for ages now.

Ok, so that’s where I am at the moment. I never shut up, and people always say I talk too much, but when I’m Riding on my own..... nothing. So I always end up putting music to my videos.

What makes it worse is the audio pack, it either never records when I am talking, or if it is, or I think it is, it’s constantly clicking in my ear which is just down right annoying.

I also wish I could stream live feeds of my filming, obviously, with the go pro this is not an option. And what made me invest in the Revl.

I am pretty sure there is not an option for voice inclusion on the Revl too.

Do I pick a Prism over the GoPro? The voice will work with the 30k, the video quality wont be as good I’m told, but it will still film in 720 at 60fps. Which is surely good enough. Live streaming, I’m not sure if it will do that.

So, that’s my dilemma, what’s your thoughts?

Can you get your investment back for the Revel?

If so just get a ghost 4k with the appropriate expansion and it will do everything you want.

Stick with your Hero4. It's solid. Get the original GoPro micro USB to microphone jack adapter, and get an external microphone, hook it up straight to the Hero4. No need for any BS secondary recorder. Even you don't say anything, it gets better/cleaner sound if you placed the mic is a good position within your helmet.

If you don't want the Hero4, I'll gladly have it. LOL!

Garmin Virb Ultra 30 - built-in bluetooth for microphone and headset pairing (tested and works), telemetry, 4k30, replaceable batteries, reputable brand and support live streaming (you HAVE to use an iPhone unfortunately).

cons: accessories are not widely available like the GoPro, but the mount on the case and optional cage is the same two prong thingy, so you can just buy only gopro stuff and use that. :> This is my camera of choice at the moment and I'm quite happy with my purchase :)

I agree with SighBored. The adapter with mic is a great way. It is what I use and I made a modification to the standard case so the adapter can poke through.

You can still find the genuine 3.5 mic adapters online new. Just be careful bending the wire. Too sharp of a bend will wear it out from the inside.

Get the blacked out skeleton housing with just the side having an opening. The plastic cover of the camera, cut the part covering the USB off so that only USB is exposed, attach the adapter, and if you wish you can use a piece of black tape to cover up the little exposed area on the case opening after the adapter is inserted.

I ride in heavy rain with zero F's given.. Yes some water gets into the casing and camera gets a little wet but it doesn't damage it and recording goes on like normal. The little exposed part (where you use tape to cover up) is not air tight and that allows the air to circulate and not fog up the case lens area.

interesting comments there guys,

I have asked for revl to cancel the payment as I can see it being a year or more beforeI see anything.

I experienced this! On your sena, maybe it's paired incorrectly? Try to pair it with the jog dial vs pair with the phone button. You can pair it either way but the correct way lets you also record in uhd. When I was incorrectly paired it was constant clicking and just overall bad audio, I was so relieved when I figured this out.

I'll second what fb333 said about the pairing. You definitely have to pair it with the jog dial as if it were another communicator pairing. The phone pairing will not only cause bad audio, but it will also not function correctly. It will treat it as an 'always connected' Bluetooth phone connection as opposed to the communicator connection.

There's also a couple of other options. Power the audio pack on so you get UHD voice mode, but leave the right switch (external mic) off. This will give you clean vocal audio. It will also cut out most of the background noise, including motorcycle engine sounds. If you're running music over dead vocal, this could work well for you.

If engine noise is important, an audio recorder wrapped in foam and placed under the seat will provide a good second audio track that you can edit the volume/gain levels to a satisfactory level. Just remember to clap or use some other sharp noise spike so that you can sync the tracks to the footage.
