Guide How To Install Usb Chargers

After looking and looking on how to install USB chargers on to a bike and not finding anything that isn't a cigarette lighter attachment connected directly to the battery I decided to make a harness and install it myself from scratch to see if it would work.
A simple circuit with a fuse and a switch, a bit of soldering and crimping and away I went.

This is the after installation video as I really didn't know if it would work or not.

I could have done this a different way, connecting to the heated hand grips plug but that sucker was well and truly hidden behind the radiator and way to hard to get to or even splice into so this is what I made.

omg this is exactly what i was looking for! i was planing on taking a LONG trip on my rebel and i was scared to go on the trip and my phone ran out of battery. Ima go see if this works with my rebel

Good setup. I currently use the cigarette lighter connected to my battery with a USB port on the end. I like that you can cut off the power though!

it is a really simple setup that will work with any bike, just a matter of where you are going to put the charging plugs.

With the light on the charger (I found most are coming out with this now) I needed something to isolate the draw and this was the simplest solution other than removing the radiator and tapping into the heated handgrip plug so that it will only work when the keys are turned in the ignition.
