I have a similar setup on my drift, bought it second hand with a dead battery. New one costs R400 , the power pack is R200... also double the battery life.
I stuck it to the back of my helmet, hooked up a short usb cable and power it like that.
when i get to the office or wanna dump the data, i charge the pack aswell. havent run it dead yet
It's a great feature. Opens up the whole possibility of having bike mounted cameras wired straight to the bike for endless recording!
Which Drift do you have? The batteries in the HD1080 and the HD170 are just re-branded Fuji units. So there are hundreds of aftermarket alternatives to the Drift officials. I have 3, that all cost less than a third of what a Drift battery costs. Its an NP-60 (but NOT the Casio NP-60!)
Oh, well that sucks!! Looks like there's a market there. Maybe just order a job lot from China and then sell them locally yourself!? Make a few pennies while you're at it!
We have a few hidden forums and features that you can't see until you login or sign up. We only send about 4 emails a year and never sell anything. We're a global community for bikers who like to record videos. We run this site for fun
