4 months ago it was 90 miles highway round trip (about an hour each way) and that wasn't to bad because the traffic wasn't to bad. Now its 85 miles but would be about an hour and a half each way so I just ride 14 miles round trip to the train station and back, and it really has lead to less stress in my life.
Currently my commute is about 1.5 miles to the train station then 40 mins on the train, but once it cools off I am going to try riding to work a few days a week which will be about 40 mins each way 20 miles there and back in traffic.
2016 will see that reduce to 30km total once I start the new job, will also mean as I'm not taking a company car this time I'll be on the bike for most of that journey. I cant wait.
3 miles for me, but i take the wife on the bike to work also. So am going to say 3x2=6miles due to 2ppl on the bike. You can trust me, i can do numbers
my commute is anywhere from 15min-45min depending on time of day and traffic and i dont think anything is really "to long" theres been 4-5 days in a row that i will ride two+ hours chill for a bit at my house then get the itch again and ride another 2 hours but im seriously addicted. I feel its all about what your willing to do if you can enjoy an hour long ride to work than by all means DO IT and enjoy your ride.
My commute is roughly 11 miles each way, however with the construction in and around where I work, what used to take me 20 minutes (one way) takes me an hour (one way). Never know what streets will be open or closed or rerouted. All this to put one bridge across the river. There is just a lot of rerouting of the expressway above the surface streets, which means those surface streets have to be closed or rerouted to allow for the overhead construction. All this while keeping the old bridge open and in use.
