How Do You Choose Your Name?

I know it seems like a stupid question. Just pick what you want right?

Once you pick a name you most likely have to stick with it for branding. Don't want to pick something like "R6 rider" for example and end up riding a Honda Grom later as your only ride.

Do you pick one randomly, something catchy, base on bike you ride, etc?

I was just trying to figure something out. I suck at naming stuff. I'm not vlogging yet, but when I do I will be riding a 1973 Honda CL350 and later after that get a 1975 CB750. For now it's Jscrambler, but i can't really say scrambler since the CB750 isn't a scrambler. it would feel out of place.

So how did you fellow riders pick your vlogging name?

Depends and which name. On YouTube, it is my actual name and on here and some other forums, the name of my side business.

Right before I started I considered going by Black Shadow (hence my username here), but heeded the advice to not limit myself to one model of motorcycle. Instead I went with where I'm from and live - Massachusetts. I haven't seen many (any?) other motovloggers from here, and the Masshole name is a funny (and true!) reflection on what crappy drivers most people here are. Everything else, like my logo and such, came out of that.

I basically hate most names that I have ever come up with...so this time I chose my actual name and threw AFJ after it because the group that I ride with is called the Assfault Junkies. They use the radioactive symbol a lot in their designs, shirts, stickers, etc so that is why I adopted it within my logo for my channel as well.

Everyone says I look like a burly lumberjack or a sasquatch. I thought Burlyjack had a better ring to it than sasquatch or squatch lol.

It has nothing do to with my real name, which is what some people think. It's just a mashup of "burly" and "lumberjack".

I have 2 YouTube channels, my other (and original) being Hippo247 which I use for PC gaming and airsoft videos. Hippo-Drones kinda stemmed from that and I think works with the pun as well as me "droning" on and my love for supermotos and the sound they make, it all just fits for me! :-)

It's been with me for about 20 years. Is my old cs name actually.
IRC name for me, i used to use ADIDAS but with 500 other people also using it i changed the spelling up and 20 years later its still stuck with me.

Dont think CR1 or CYamaha would have as good of a ring to it haha; but in your case it works well.. until you sell said Scrambler though..

Since I like vintage Hondas I was playing round with the name J.V.HONDA for "Jarrett-Vintage-Honda" simce it has my name in it and says what I like.

Well it was torn between: Chickenstrips and Waffles.Wheelies. I had always gone by "Chicken" and every variation available since I was a teen. Recently though since I got my stunt bike ( and working for the Waffle House ) I would find myself in my uniform straight from work checking out the stunt riders at the lot. And they started calling me "Waffles" and I liked the alliteration of "Waffles.Wheelies" It's more of my Show is "Waffles Wheelies" starring ya boy "Waffles"

Urban is actually my last name and I threw BeRiding right after it. I feel like it's a pretty decent name especially since my last name is incorporated into my brand.

This is pretty interesting.

My YT name comes from my online handle that I've used since the 90's. I used to be fascinated with this SNES game called Seiken Densetsu 3, and one of my favourite protagonists was Riesz the Amazon Princess. I re-arranged it to keep the pronunciation but changed the letters to Reize and had it ever since.

The Primus portion of it comes from how "Reize" itself was a pretty common German surname and it would get used in plenty of places. So I just used the Latin word for "First", "Primus" and stuck it at the end to make the username legit on plenty of websites that had Reize alone used.
