Hello everyone, just figured that since I just recently started posting my motovlogs to YouTube I should come around here and introduce myself so I could get some good feedback from others in the community.

My goal when I started my channel was to do something I saw little of in the two YouTube communities I feel a part of. I wanted to merge my two favorite things into one format for fans of either to enjoy. I racked my brain for how to do this, and the thought occurred to me that it was more simple than I was making it. What I needed to do was to give people a glimpse of what goes through my head while I ride, what's always been there, not some artificial rambling to secure subs. I am a gamer, and I am a motorcyclist. When I ride, I think about gaming. It's my zen when I'm on the road. It's what allows me to relax and let my body and bike speak to each other, to prevent me from overthinking my inputs.

As someone who was new to video editing, but having been in the IT realm for nearly 12 years now in just about every discipline, it took me a long time to get the intro sequence to a point where I even felt comfortable with taking those first bits of content footage. Nearly a month in fact, from concept to upload. I still have ideas up my sleeve for how to add some flavor to my videos later, and different recurring segments that I can do, but for now it is as I believe it should be, a gamer talking to his love of gaming on two wheels.

Please feel free to give me whatever feedback you desire. Constructive criticism welcomed.

Enjoy (I hope)

Good video, i havent watched the other yet but based on this one i would say AMAZING intro to your videos, the topics are pretty good and thats coming from a non-nintendo/wii player, only real criticism i have is cut out the dead air where you are sitting at lights, riding (when not on a good strech of road), and other times when you arent speaking or just saying random things! Also I would shorten the videos maybe instead of having 1 24 min vid with 2 large topics (GOTY and Wii marketing) maybe you should have two 2 12 min vids. 1 covering GOTY and a couple smaller short topics and 1 about Wii marketing and a couple smaller short topics! for me i like Vloggers that stick to between 5 and 10 mins a video. Any more and it feels like they are just dragging on even when their topic is good (overwhelming maybe is the word im looking for?) But like i said the video was good and topics were interesting they just seemed to be to long! thats just my .02, take it or leave or it, but i will be subscribing since your vids are pretty good topics and scenery! Also you need to tell me how you did that intro!!!!!

this video right here! perfect! Not to long, dead air is to a minimum, 1 big topic and couple of smaller topics, good scenery, and that INTRO is still badass!!!! Man did you really take my comment above to heart! that was freaky fast ;) You arent by chance the owner of Jimmy Johns are you!?

LMAO! I just wanted to provide a decent sample with plenty of footage to start. I did a much better job of editing after the first video, and created two videos from one ride, by delineating the topics and cutting out dead airtime (except the pre-intro on one of them, because I was being silly, and I don't mind showing that off, lol). I also became less afraid of experimenting with different types of cuts (jump, crossfade, fade to black). I think that as I get better at editing and at talking out loud to myself on the bike I will get better at organization of topics so I can try to keep the videos a little shorter and still get some good scenery. I'm gearing up for a trip out to Coronado island, and I want ALL that beautiful bridge footage in there.

As far as the intro, THANKS!! That took a very long time to conceptualize and create, and went through many failed iterations (and is still a work in progress, since my request to license the music I wanted to overlay with more of a character building intro was flatly denied by UMG). In fact, my avatar is from the iteration that was scrapped (for video quality reasons) before I reshot the entire thing to make what you saw.

Holy moly! What decil said, that intro is stellar! And your audio quality is phenomenal! Listening to you talk about gaming makes me want to jump back in, just wish I had the time.

No man that Vid was perfect, and dead air is good in small doses especially if its a funny clip like your pre intro or a clip showing scenery or what not! keep those up and youll have plenty of views and subs! Like you said i have yet to come across a motovlogger that talks mainly about video games (use to be a huge gamer but now i rarely play as im either at work, school, or riding)!it makes reviews, thoughts and comments that much more interesting and better to watch then a weird guy with an insanely large desk microphone sitting at home talking about video games and trying to act silly by doing over-dramatic reactions to different topics lol

Yeah, TOTALLY aggree with the intro comments. FRIGGN LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!! You can easilly see the gaming influence in it.
Ive been thinkn of doin an intro, but to get that quality, i gotta patch things with my Brother (hes in TV industry, Production etc).
Is it filmed ina darkroom? or green screen then done? What effects did u use for/on it?

My thoughts on the length the latest vid. The time is long, atmittadly i did skip a few minutes.
I thought u could chop into x2, but its been sudgested allready.
Dont worry though, In time youll get 'the feel' for what YOUR veiwers want.

Cheers 'Santa'. BTW i want 'another' bike for next Chrissy pls :D

P.S +1 Sub

I filmed the part with me lifting my head (initializing as it were) outside at midnight under a streetlamp and used AE to mask out various light sources (I wanted reflections on the helmet but no light anywhere else and I don't have a green screen). I had to reshoot several times for image quality purposes and because I kept wobbling my head after lifting it, lol.

I also have some shots doing a closeup glide over of the bike from various POVs, as well as some footage with the GoPro mounted on the front of the bike looking back at me that I plan to incorporate at some point, but the music I wanted to use I was denied rights to use by UMG. Those will have to wait until I have more time and some really good beats to throw onto it.

If you blow it up fullscreen you can actually read my "bootstrap" which I wanted to loosely resemble the pre boot sequence of Cisco IOS, and that piece was done in AE as a series of animation presets with scan lines and some interference.

I rotoscoped the alpha channel of a short 1.5 sec sequence from the MegaMan reveal for SSB Wii U so that I could recolor the solid portions and remove the "megaman power ups" from it, then used my boot sequence animation as an alpha matte. All in all, took about a month from start to finish and I am extremely stoked by the positive response to it, considering how important the meaning behind it was to me. (It is symbolic of me waking up and doing something I've never tried to do because I was always afraid something or another, and tricked myself into believing that I couldn't do it, while incorporating my history as a network engineer as well as my passions, I like the idea of a TriForce and an A* logo in the same shot, lol)

Oh, and "Reviews On Two" IS coming! I'm formulating plans for partially scripting it now.

Ill get a real 'Paid' for editing software package, One-day lol
Nice, Simple but it did a great intro.
Ive been thinkn of getn a Crash test dummy suit, to do my intro. I just HAVE TO keep it as a logo with a name like mine :)

Cheers. Thanx for the tips.
