Hello People!

Should I keep doing the same kind of content or do you think talking in a mic is a must?

So glad I found this forum!

I'm quite a new rider from Romania.

I've started a new youtube channel, with a little bit different kind of motovlog. Basically sharing the experience on the most beautiful roads of my country.

I would like to ask for your feedback : Do you think this kind of content has any demand on the market?

You can find my channel by searching Filip Robbie on youtube. ( I have changed the channel name to RoBiker but it doesn't seem to show up on the search bar).

Please let me know your honest opinion.

Cheers!

Hi, I ride a Fz1 fazer 07.

Different from other motovloggers in my area is the fact that I am not talking but rather edit the clips on some chill soundtracks.

Thanks for your suggestions, I think I will do just that. I've tried talking to a mic ...as a test. Lets say...I find it a bit difficult not to say something stupid or maybe it's just the beginning that I find pretty hard until I get used to it?

Welcome to the forum. Great footage. I agree, tell us and introduce your viewers to you, your country, and the roads you ride, if you can add a narrative track. Add new elements to your videos, music no voice, music and voice, editing montages, etc. ..., , jus have fun.

Talking to a mic can be difficult, even more so If you've never done it before and like me and try to talk in a language that is not your native one :). I've only done 2 videos so far (over 20 failed attempts), and I can already notice improvement. So don't be discouraged, just do your best and remember, practice makes perfect.

Thanks for your time to reply!

I think I am going to wait and get a mic adapter for hero 5 and a mic. ( really annoying price for a stupid adapter). What mic do you guys recommend ? I would like a small one as the boom mic from the intercom is already taking a lot of space in my helmet.

I'd suggest getting a GoPro Hero 4 rather than the 5 (I have a 5 Black and a 5 Session). The mic adaptor is a joke and not waterproof at all, the USB-C connection is weak too. The only benefit the 5 has over the 4 is image stabilisation which motovloggers generally turn off as it doesn't work well in this application.

I already bought the hero 5 :( Had a hero 4 which I lost last year to the waves in Spain.

Omg...not only is it highly expensive, way to big for an adapter but is not waterproof? jeez...

Ahh bum. Also do not update it to the latest firmware version (if the latest is still v2.0) as it disables the external mic when using one touch record. I have posted a video on here showing how to revert the firmware if it is already on v2.0

you can always get an external recorder and not bother with the gopro adapters. I'm not sure, but can you connect your intercom to the GoPro via bluetooth, or they haven't implemented that yet.

Wouldn't that be great. As far as I know they never implemented this. I wonder if their software could be modified to allow any bluetooth mic input.

It's not mandatory to speak if you have an external microphone setup. Sometimes having an external microphone setup provides better audio than the built-in mic of the camera, less wind noise, better sound levels, etc.

Think I am actually going to stick with the intercom bluetooth and record on the phone : / At least until GoPro wakes the fuck up and allow the poeple to use that bluetooth functionality.
