Hello From Teapotone

Hello folks, only just found this site so thought I'd say hi.

I'm a Scottish lad living and working in England who, like most of you I bet, pretty much lives to ride bikes.

I've got a battered 2011 Suzuki GSX-R1000 with 102,000 miles on the clock after I rode it around the world from 2012 to 2014 in a trip that was called - TeapotOne. I grew a bit of a following and the name has stuck.

Now I run a busy Facebook page, and am growing the youtube channel steadily. On top of that I also ride a BMW R1200GS, well at least I did until a SMIDSY took me out in August - I'm still off work and unable to ride, currently awaiting a shoulder op.

I also run a touring company (ChickenStrips) where we take riders to the best biking roads in Europe, almost exclusively to Northern Spain these days as they are without doubt the most popular.

I love to get out there and ride new roads, especially around the UK, and am always up for a brew and a natter if you ever see me about - you can't miss me really!

I'm always up for doing collaborations too so drop me a line if you'd like to discuss an idea for our respective channels.

Cheers for now,

Bruce

Hi Bruce, welcome to the forum. Wowzers, a round world bike trip sounds pretty amazing. Riding in Spain is lots of fun too, fantastic roads and scenery! :-)

Hey there Bruce from America,

Hate you are waiting on shoulder surgery but with everything you listed - that is an amazing life so far!

Awesome on the mileage of the GSX. There is a thread from a member @RiderInRed where he is looking for input between getting a 600cc vs. 1000 cc bike. You might have some useful insight for him.

I will have to look you up online. Good luck with the shoulder surgery. I hope it is nothing too extreme.

Hi and welcome Bruce

Going to be hard to top a world tour ;)

I think quite a few UK riders (like me) will be hibernating in Winter.
I also had an 'encounter' a few weeks ago so have to get bike patched up.
Hopefully we can all get together in Spring...

Welcome buddy!

as EDcase said, bit hard to top that ;)

Thanks for refering to my post there. I'm quite curious to see what he has as an input!

Also welcome mate!

Hey, and welcome to the forum. Sorry about the SMIDSY crash. Glad you're okay. I've been there too. Looking forward to your channel.

Your channel is a real treat to watch mate, I hope your DVD is a success, be ace if it helps you fund a new adventure! :)

Thanks Hippo!

Very kind of you bud qnd much appreciated. Aye I love doing the channel, hardly any money in it though to be honest, but thankfully with the online store/book/dvd/merch and Patreon, it is starting to pay a bill or two at least, so who knows where it'll lead to. Long term I'd love to be able to take it on the road regularly all over the place, so we'll see how it goes in 2018.

Cheers for now and Merry Christmas.
