Have Any Of You Guys Used Blender To Make Animated Intros?

Hi all.

I'm looking to make an intro for my videos that is a little bit more than static text over video footage, and am looking to animate some stuff.

Thing is, I have no history animating things. I'm looking towards Blender to make a short 3d animation, I know that the software is capable but I was wondering how steep the learning curve is, if anyone knows.

I'd also appreciate any other suggestions for making animated intros.

Thanks!

The learning curve is very steep, you need to grasp the concept of polygonal modelling or at least understand how things work in a 3D space, you would also have to learn a bit about animation depending on how fancy you want to make it. Even particle effects could be something you would learn.

However, you can do a lot of the motion graphics stuff in Adobe After Effects, and in AE you get a lite version of Cinema 4D, which is more dedicated to what you are trying to do.
What's nice is that there is A LOT of learning materials out there for any software, and skills transfer once you get the basics down.

So in the end, you'll need a good chunk of patience to learn properly. But you can do useful things with just the basic knowledge if you are willing to take a few disappointments on the way.

Thanks for the response. I'll look into After Effects as well. I have seen that there are plenty of youtube videos for pretty much anything you could want to do, I was just wondering if anyone had any first-hand experience here.

After Effects is what I really want to learn. I've watched some cool tutorials on Video Co-Pilot that shows how to do some cool text. I haven't stuck to it to learn the ins and outs yet, but I really want to sit down in the off season to learn. Right now my intro is kind of janky. Just some text and a little logo I made lol
