Bali is known to be a spiritual island, full of magical places, mystical objects and sometimes terrifying stories about ghosts and demons. Within the Balinese culture and religious ceremonies, demons play a large role and therefore it comes with no surprise, that empty buildings like this, tell a story of their own.
Bali’s ‘Ghost Palace’ is no exception; build around 1990, 4 or so stories into the hillside with 200 rooms and apartment’s each with a stunning view, private Jacuzzi, marble floors and mystical sculpture everywhere. Sadly though it never has been completed.
A lot of stories surrounding this place, which has been abandoned ever since. Locals believe, it is haunted and don’t dare to set a foot anywhere near the land. It might have been the bankrupt investor who told the story in first place to keep people away, or it might be the unexplained deaths during the building period. We may never will find out.
It is interesting though, as the location offers the best views overlooking amazing rice terraces, somehow there is no interest to change what has been empty and untouched for the past 24+ years but it might just be that this hotel is fully booked every night anyway !
There is no footage from inside the room’s to show, simple out of respect towards the land owner and Balinese, as I shouldn’t even have been there. Just let me tell you this; while I was there, a few times even my jacket got chicken skin ! I certainly wouldn’t go there at night… uhm because of the low light sensitivity from the drift of course.
Keep in mind there NO actual facts to what really had happen and I only can assume and tell what is going around anyway.
