Its a resistor used for led's
Follow the wires and they should tell you.

Might not but thats what it is
2 of them. One for left and one for right

Took a good glance yesterday and sure enough it's the resistor for the integrated indicators for my rear light.
Darn thing gets hot. Thanks guys.

lol! I don't trust the wiring at all. Very sketchy job from the previous owner.

Anyway, look at what the bar did to my mic ):

Damn so it'll basically melt anything under the trunk. Watch out it doesnt get on the ECU.

Put heat shrink around it then wrap it in exhaust wrap or something

its a resistor, They get hot, its in their job description, You just have to manage it and Just make sure its rated for the power your putting through it
