A short 2 minute edit of the longer videos on the crash I rode through. Literally.
The longer videos (0033-0035) show more of the ride, the crash after-math and then I discuss what I was thinking and my normal -trying to ride as safe as possible- techniques.

I hope it helps. I don't really want to do it again!:D

This is just the crash. Video 0036

Hi,

Yes that was quite a moment.
Thank you very much for watching and commenting.

I actually was a foot to the left originally.
If you pause the helmet camera footage (00:54) any time before the crash, before the car is crossing the line, you can look down at the lower left corner and see that my hand is not in frame. I'm in a left-hand curve so if anything I'm gradually turning left.

This is how I was riding and my road position before I saw the car and realized a collision was about to happen.

If you watch for it or pause the video just as the cars are touching (01:08) and look at the lower left of the frame, instead of the collision, you can see my hand pushing the bike to the right. Once you realize what's happening it's also easy to see it in the Clutch-Camera footage as the center line moves off as the bike moves to the right.

I did move about a foot or so to the right. As I planned on moving over I thought the car in front of me (the car being hit) might bounce to that lane and there was already another car there. I just got a feeling of it's too crowded, I never like being right behind others. So I aborted that plan and just stayed on the right side of my lane as I continued to look for a place to go depending on what was going to happen with the cars.

Luckily (magically?) I somehow ended up almost perfectly in line with the gap between the car and it's wheel. I was looking for a place to go, a gap, but it was just luck that it became available like that.
