gopro position

I'm switching from a standard helmet to an icon variant and need to reposition my Gopro. Where is the best place on the helmet? I tried where I had it before and it's horrible. Input!!

My personal favourite for a GoPro is a jaw-mounted angle that is slightly pointed upwards so you don't see too much bike. It creates a very centralized shot and I believe you can do it with the clamp mount. Is it the most comfortable? Definitely not, considering the shape of the Variant anyway. Give it a shot though!

I am wondering the same thing. As you can see on the avatar, I have mine on the chinbar (on the shoei xr110 I have now its a bit harder, but still workeable).
Now... on a variant I am VERY curious as to if it can fit on the top of the chinbar (right in front of the visor), or hanging down from the "peak" or "cap" at the front.
Please give feedback as to why it wont work at those positions (fotos would be even better).

I've just attached mine to the chin of my new Bell Star.

The chin is very pointed but have used the curve mount. Not perfect seal but I think it will hold.

I'll give all this advice a shot! I didn't expect it to be so tricky to position it but it actually sits very differently then a normal helmet.

If you can't get a mount to stick there, try mounting similar to RC62's method. Buy a wrist mount from GoPro, and tie it over the chin-bar. You will have to leave visor open slightly, but it is a good workaround for the centralised mounting.

I have a Drift mounted on the side of of my Variant, however I got a new AGV Horizon helmet for Christmas and I want to mount the GoPro I have on the chin bar. However the way it's angled and curved I cannot find a way to get solid contact from either a curved or flat mount. I'm hoping to take part of my tax return and get a 2nd GoPro to keep mounted on the bike. That's where I have my current one mounted at. Does anyone have a GoPro mounted on the side of their helmet? Does it get any drag or wind resistance? With the Drift I'm not used to having something big and bulky sticking off the side of my head.

Haven't got the mike yet so not going to post a video but have been testing the camera from the new chin mount and really happy with it. Just confirms to me that the chin is the best spot. You get a good view of the top of the bike with the bars, the camera pans to everywhere you're looking and it is far enough up to take in the horizon and smallish part of the sky. Perfeck!!

I have 5 screws to play with but very happy with the result. I use rubberbands to stop the audio cable flapping about in the wind attached to a £2 lapel mic from Ebay located within the helmet.
